for the last 30 years or so, my wife and I spent new years eve with the same group of friends. because 2 of them had recent surgery, we decided to postpone the party.

we stayed home last night, and to my delight tcm had " a hard day's night", followed by "gimme shelter" and "jimi Hendrix" allright- a rock and roll new years. much better than the drivel on network tv.

anybody else do something different?

No, I'm sure we all did the exact same.

Happy New Year to you and your wife, phreddybee! We have the flu, so we did more or less the same as you.

I stayed in, watched celebrations on TV. Was offered a roadie gig for small money and big party favors, inviting, but with a wind chill of 10 below last night I was glad to be home lol. Happy New Year phreddy !

Spent the night up a nearby (15 minutes), mountain in my gals original log cabin! Lit the fire and went for a snowshoe while the cabin warmed up. Amazing moon and stars! Made fondue, drank wine. All the good stuff. PLUS, it's out of cel phone range!

Happy New Year!

Peace, Gridlok

Normally My wife and I stay home, but this year we went to a local club and saw a local band The Big Takeover, a reggae band and they were pretty good in my opinion.

"The Big Takeover is a unique concoction of backgrounds and spirits that perfectly creates a version of reggae that is fresh and vivid. With Jamaican born and raised NeeNee Rushie as a captivating and memorable front woman, this movement complete with a playful horn section, pulsating bass and drums, and a hypnotizing rhythm section fills its audience’s hearts with good vibes and solid joy. "
One of the newer members of this band had a 1965 strat in blue that was given to him by an uncle but needed lots of work to get it to play, so it had the original neck and body every thing else needed to be replaced, still it was a smoking guitar

We also had a designated driver  , another reason we went out :)
