I don't know anything about strats, but those string trees are odd. I've never seen them like that.

Have you removed the neck to check for markings on the neck butt and neck cavity? I'm positive that's no Deluxe neck. You can buy those decals in a lot of places. The serial numbers wrong. The Deluxe has a silver inlaid Fender logo, not a decal. It has abalone dot fret markers and locking tuners. I have no idea what that thing is.

My American Deluxe has the Silver Inlaid Fender logo. It also has the abalone dot fret markers, and locking tuners.

Yeah, that's not a Fender neck.

It has the DZ serial prefix, and 7 numbers after the DZ.

Is your serial number in the same place as his?

My serial number is located on the back of the headstock, just below the locking tuners, pretty much centered. Below that it says "Made in the USA" below the serial number in small letters.

It's not a SCN volume pot either. I'd like a look under that pickguard and a look at the neck butt/cavity. I'm sorry for the owner but that thing screams fake.

The newer American Deluxe's have the S-1 Switching, which is turned on and off via a center button built into the volume knob.

Yeah, I am with you on that. There are just two many inconsistencies with regard to this guitar. I am just wondering if that is a G&L body with that toggle switch on the pickguard for the humbucker. Just not kosher for a Fender.
