Hi everybody!
Nice to be here!
I need some help with my Stratocaster..
I´ve searching some about the serial number to know what exactly kind of strato is that guitar.

The serial number is:
DZ02020121

I guess i could think its an American Deluxe series, but it is not!
In the headstock there the symbol "Standar Series", and it looks like a highway One or something like that, because the bold or fat of the head.

Please help this confused dude!
thanks!

:)

Did you get it used or from a dealer? I think that number should have 5 - 6 characters after the DZ0 instead of 7.

DZ0 = 2000 American Deluxe. AFAIK that would be the only authentic Fender Strat with that serial number. Are you sure the last tow numbers are part of the serial number? Post some pictures so we can see it, the way you describe it, it sounds like it could be a fake or something put together from parts from several guitars?

Well there is definitely something hinky there. It has a Highway One headstock decal, but the serial number states that it is an American made Deluxe. The neck is not American. The truss rod hole on the head stock would have a walnut insert, not black plastic.

Plus I don't think that the serial number is even kosher. It is too long and not positioned correctly on the back of the headstock from what I can tell.

How many frets does it have? Is the last fret flush with the but end of the neck or does the last fret overhang on the body? Also I don't remember that Fender put on a toggle switch for the humbucker. I know G&L did that.

Any other ideas you guys?

My American Deluxe has the walnut hole at the truss rod. It has the DZ serial prefix, and 7 numbers after the DZ.

I KNOW that my Strat is real, due to the fact that I only bought it a few months ago from a major dealer, new.

Is your serial number in the same place as his?

Ohh that guitar really looks like mine!
Very similiar!
But there some different details too!
My guitar has 22 frets , not 21 as FenderFanatic´s guitar.
Also theres that plate back the body "FENDER corona california)
Must say this i bought this guitar to a friend, so it was a used guitar, but damnnnn! its really a nice guitar, and very sexy look!

I dont know why there´s the Standar model" logo in the headstock, and that serial number... is it the chance this guitar is fake? or maybe custom??

Have you removed the neck to check for markings on the neck butt and neck cavity? I'm positive that's no Deluxe neck. You can buy those decals in a lot of places. The serial numbers wrong. The Deluxe has a silver inlaid Fender logo, not a decal. It has abalone dot fret markers and locking tuners. I have no idea what that thing is.

My serial number is located on the back of the headstock, just below the locking tuners, pretty much centered. Below that it says "Made in the USA" below the serial number in small letters.

I think it's a given that the serial number is a fake.
