His headstock design followed the look of the upper horn of the guitar. Something that even Fender should have had the 'eye' to do years ago. IMHO, it was definitely a keeper.

If you can find a picture, I'd love to see it!

Naaah, surely it was just a few years ago? And I bet those tartan pants will still fit too, with just a minor extension or two. It's only been a few, surely!
Anyone still have a Nehru jacket in the back of the closet?

Well I have to stand corrected because I'm confusing it with another model now extinct, The Performer. It also was very avant-garde, and that's the one which was resurrected. Find the thread 'Which Fender Models Should Make A Comeback and go to page 4. Scroll down and you'll see pics of both models.

I am a Tommy Shaw fan. He plays Gibby though!

I assumed Tim Shaw was another musician and the Shawbucker was a "signature" humbucker. I see now that Tim Shaw is a prominent guitar technician.

Winter NAMM 2015 is over and after watching all of the videos at the NAMM website I'm wondering what "new" ideas were offered by any of the participants. The Okoume versions of Fender guitars are beautiful and guitar players will want them for their collections for sure. Other than those being offered by a big company has anyone heard of anything remarkable being offered by anyone else, big or small? Was this years music industry gathering just the same old song and dance?

Themes and variations I'd say. A pillar of musical composition across the years. Capitalizing on new technology and creative ideas in finishing. However, the basic guitars are established classics.

Anything new and cutting edge would probably fall into electronics, and most of the traditionalist guitar buying public, don't want anything to do with newfangled gear. So it's not surprising when the large companies just keep regurgitating the same products year after year.

Gibson has embraced servo tuners, and there's a Tronical on pretty much every new model except the Firebird. But we knew that back in November, so it's not NAMM news.

Other than that, the biggest NAMM news seems to be for synth players. Dave Smith / Sequential Prophet 6 and Nord Electro 5 are both droolworthy. Korg and Moog have new stuff too, but... Prophet 6! That's enough to create an analog synth revival. What Would Wakeman Do?

And for portable recording, the new portable 4x4 Roland 32-bit (and 1-bit) 192 kbps USB audio interface seems awesome, except for a lack of instrument level input, so you can't get away from a pre-amp if using it with a guitar. But still, this might be a MOTU killer for laptop/tablet/phone use. If they come out with a version that can take instrument level too, Roland can shut up and take my money.

Anticipating the day when no physical skill will be required to be an instrumentalist. They'll put a sensor on your head to permit you to mindmeld with a gadget build by Roland.. You'll think melody and the gadget will convert in into what ever combination of tones you program it for.

I ran across this video today and was drooling profusely.

I have the Mark-1, and it's an extremely remarkable amp. To see the upgrades they've made to it really blows my mind.

Mind boggling! I can see where some would love the versatility, but it's way too much for me.
However, I would enjoy playing with it for a day or so!

There is such a thing as too many knobs. That amp is it.
If I saw someone using this, I would think they were very insecure, much like someone with two dozen pedals on their pedal board.

It helps to have an earlier version to understand why they did that.

It is basically six amplifiers. My Mark 1 is set up like it's 3 amps.

If I use amp #2 on mine, it's a high strung Vox-like sounding channel in section A, and a darker heavier amp in section B. But they both share the same eq and master Vol.

With the Mark 3, they gave all six channels separate EQs and volume levels.

It all may look like a ton to take in by its looks of all of those knobs. But when you get used to a Triamp, it's no big deal. Although, I don't think the name fits the product anymore. It's truly six independent switchable channels now.

How about that self biasing switchable tube feature? That's cool stuff.
