Last week as I was getting ready to go to band practice , I broke a B string on my Strat and didn't have any spares. My next door neighbor also plays guitar so I went and asked him if he had a spare I could buy from him. He turned around and gave me a set of Elixir 10-46 and told me to put these on and that I would never go back to using anything else. Now I've heard of these before but always avoided them because of the high price. Needless to say after putting them on and stretching them out, I was blown away at how great they sound and also help keep my guitar in tune as well. I also found out after reading reviews that a set will last months which in the long run, will save you money on buying strings when you think about it. I went and ordered a 3 pack yesterday so I think I should be set for the next year. LOL.

Hi :D

I have been using the Elixir 10-46 for years on my electrics and have also used this brand on my Accoustic. They have been great strings.

Have elixirs on my bass since 2010. They still sound great.

I retired to beach in Thailand, which is hell on strings and everything else. Strings will just blow off guitars. Rust over night. Tried all coated, but Elixirs far better than the rest (the anti rust). Will last 3-4 months (and that is playing hour or two a day) versus 3 weeks standard strings (max). And sound good to boot. I resisted as long as I could.... who knows why?

I have to give them a try. But every time I go to buy strings I just can't pass the much cheaper EB's. And I always wipe my strings down and cost them with Dunlop string cleaner and conditioner and my strings sound good for at least a month and a half.

As a diabetic, its all I use electric or Acoustic. Round or flatwound strings of any material take their toll and my finger tips crack ridiculously. I like the Poly 09-42 special light set for electric and 11-52 for acoustic. Juststrings has great prices, check them out...............

+1
I tried them on one Strat and one Tele and wasn't impressed enough to justify the money but I do use them exclusively on my acoustics ... except on the rare occasions I might record something. Then I'll use Martin SP.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Whoa!
I had never even considered Elixirs before.
Put a set of 10-46 Nanowebs on my HSH Strat and...
...hate to resort to web acronyms but this one deserves it...
OMG !!!
The sound just jumps off the pickups.
Do they really last longer? well. I'll check in after 200 hours of playing.
I still love Fender's nickel Bullets and GHS Boomers,
but these Elixirs are quickly living up to their cash outlay.
Very way cool. 8)

I still have the set on my Strat which my neighbor gave me over a month ago and they're still going strong with no loss in tone what so ever. I ended up buying a 3 pack on E-Bay for only 20 bucks which will probably last me for the next year or so. I did put a set on my Epi LP Gold Top P-90 Re-Issue and they sound great on it. I won't use anything else anymore.

I've used them for a number of years..love em. I use Poly's on one Tele and one Lester because they are not quite as bright as the Nano's. A Strat and one Lester get the Nano's. I've got one guitar that has had a set of their Poly10/46's on it since fall of 2012. Still sound pretty good to me....even though the string coating is wearing/flaking off in the area that gets picked most

Ok, help a noob with a string question:
I've dialed-in intonation on a number of strats, so I think I got the hang of it.
But after installing a set of Nanowebs (10s) on my HSH, my intonation goes way sharp at the 12th fret, particularly on the wound strings and especially E.
I realize intonation is a function of scale-length, but is there maybe some kind of attribute of the Nanowebs that could affect this?
Anybody else have this experience?
thanks!
