Huh, changing strap locks will void the warranty? When Fender doesn't sell just the knobs?
That doesn't seem like the Right Thing.
He said "LPC"...I picture "Les Paul Custom"---if that's the case, Fender has nothing to do with it.

At any rate; I love the Schaller strap locks. They look good, and they function real well.
I bought some Dunlop strap locks once, and they were the most ridiculous look & design I could imagine once I installed them. The strap sat WAY off the body, and they had push-button release at the end that could have easily been bumped (on the bottom one, not the horn). Thank God the music store took them back with an open package.

I will agree with arth1 that; any and all parts for any and all existing products should be available to any and all people looking for them AND they should be easy to find. I get tired of hunting down parts for everything.
This includes anything manufactured; cars, guitars, and table saw---all of it.
A trip to the hardware store can cure just about anything...but a guy shouldn't have to "fashion a fix".

Well, I got my Fender branded Schallers and installed them. They work great, although depending on the strap, it can be hard to get the hex nut tightened well - the strap itself might be in the way of using a wrench, and the diameter is metric and just slightly bigger than the one Fender uses for tuners, so a Fender toolkit won't help. Luckily, I have an European car kit with metric hex sockets.

That's three guitars with Schallers now - I think I'll convert the rest too, except perhaps the SG, where I don't want anything sticking out and poking me if I move the guitar.

It took a long while before most guitars standardized on ball end strings - let's hope they'll one day standardize on strap locks too, so the straps can come with them.

Rather than get another pair of Schaller locks and a strap, I got a Planet Waves strap with the built-in locks, for not much more than the price of just the Schaller locks.

It works fine so far.

I use Schallers on all of my gits... have never seen anything other than the full kits.

It is a personal resentment of mine that straplocks are not standard equipment on any guitar as you shouldn't leave the store without them installed!

I want to hear it from a Fender moderator that unscrewing strap pegs and screwing in locking strap pegs voids the warranty on a guitar! One: they have no business manufacturing a guitar without standard locking pegs if that is the case and, two: Fender brands Schaller strap locks in their own name!
