I have looked around trying to buy just strap locks, but can't find anyone selling just the strap locks without the mount and screws. Certainly, Fender doesn't seem to.
One of my guitars has what I believe is American Standard strap locks, and another has Schaller strap locks. At least for the latter, I have the locks, but for the AmStd lock, I don't because I bought the guitar used.

Are there anyone who sells just the nuts/locks? (And Fender, why don't you?)

Even if not compatible with what I have, I'm more than willing to switch over if I know I can buy parts and not just full sets.

Why buy Strap locks? You can make them from a myriad of materials very inexpensively and also have the pleasure of doing something for yourself.
Just sayin.

T2

p.s....I have never run across a "Set" of lock straps that did not include the whole "Set".

FWIW

The nuts are electrical nuts, you can find them at most hardware stores. Two will cost you under a buck. I have never found a guitar supplier that sells individual pieces for straplocks.

But those won't fit on the existing mounts, which are more like rods. That's the problem - I cannot use a strap at all on one of my guitars, because the "American Standard" type strap lock won't hold the strap in place at all without the special nut. Which I can't buy.

If they did, they would probably charge more that a full set cost.
I use Loxx and have extra locks because I have more guitars than straps. I have a set of Schallers I would give you if you want. I took them off of a guitar because I like the Loxx better and I wanted all guitars and straps to be the same.

These guys sometimes will sell individual parts, or they used to anyway:

Is this the thing you're looking for http://www.stringsdirect.co.uk/parts-c4 ... rome-p7082 ?

I like the Schaller system used on my Am Deluxe (is the Schaller one still the standard fit on the Deluxe?).
I don't use one strap and change the guitar though - I have a strap for every guitar that stays with the guitar.
I just happen to like the security the straplocks bring - there are no hairy "guitarheads to the floor" moments.

I got my schaller ones from ebay you can buy parts seperatly and they work well.

Use the plastic clips from bread bags.

If you want to leave the security of your pride and joy to a cheap bit of plastic be my guest.
I prefer to make sure that mine stays on when it's meant to, and comes off easily when required 8)

I assure you that will not work on the Am Std "barrel" type locks. They're cylindrical, and have a groove that's perhaps 1/32" deep.

I've ordered a few Fender branded Schaller locks so I can standardize, but I still think I shouldn't have to replace parts on a guitar or buy parts I don't need in order to be able to use a strap.

The Grover strap buttons on Stewmac look pretty well identical to the Schaller item.
Might be worth a call .....

Schallers on all 4 of my guitars. L and M charged me $38 (that tax will get ya) for the gold set for my LPC in July. Voids the USA warranty but gave me peace of mind.

Huh, changing strap locks will void the warranty? When Fender doesn't sell just the knobs?
That doesn't seem like the Right Thing.
