Another one, just seems like I started a post that said Happy Birthday Joe in May. Man you never know.
Damn lung cancer.

R.I.P. Joe... Thanks for the Music !

I remember Fall of '67 sneaking under the fence at O'Shaunessy Stadium to see Joe Cocker and the Grease Band perform for the Freshman Orientation week at St. Thomas College in St. Paul.

Can you believe it... long before there were 'Rock Stars', an act like Joe Cocker could be booked for such a small venue private event.

cheers!

I went to a concert a few years ago, featuring several artists, and Buddy Guy was the one that I really wanted to see. Unbeknownst to me, Joe Cocker was one of the performers, and although I probably wouldn't have gone to a Joe Cocker concert, I was really blown away by the performance and am glad that I got to see him.

Another fond memory that I have of Joe, was when John Belushi did a great impersonation of him on Saturday Night live, and then was joined on stage by Joe himself, both dressed alike in a jeans outfit, and both singing and contorting. Duelling Cockers, each trying to out Cocker each other. John's impersonation was spot on, really sounded just like Joe. Absolutely fantastic, and a real gut buster. 8)

Joe was one of the best and will truly be missed.

Here's a photo of my wife with Joe Cocker in '77, just about the time that I met her. As you can see, Joe was smoking then.
