Looking better , but why do we have to endure the big wide picture header, that necessitates having to scroll down every time a fresh subject is chosen?
It takes up half my screen

Yeah, we can take up a vote on that topic at some point - I think the header area could stand to be slimmed a hair as well. Looks cool to new visitors (we have the data in hand to back that statement) but the novelty can wear off quickly for regular visitors.

Also, considering I have played guitar over 50 years, I object to the childish maroon PLECTRUMS (yes folks that is what they were called originally , not "picks") on my profile picture referring me as a "roadie"...............why have silly names?, why not just show a coloured in one for how many posts without the "hobbyist/rock star" crap

OK, now on this one we're clear has ALWAYS existed since forum's inception 7 years ago, yes? The picks (er, sorry, plectrums) aren't new.

Yet another website has been ruined all in the name of "mobile compatibility." That's a shame. Now, for my real beef - my account no longer has all the Fender products I had previously registered. Is this an attempt to get us all to go out and buy new gear???

See, I contend that such challenges actually bring us together and strengthen us as a group - at least that's the story I'm running with here. (Heck, how about we ALL going to go get coffee to discuss further? :D) We're getting through some of the initial simple fixes and will have the avatar-obscuring-post-text issue fixed shortly. It's clear that login for outside-the-US individuals continues to be a bit of a pain point - having a number of offline discussions on that front and believe we're getting close to a full resolution on that issue. And to those of you internationalites who have managed to forge out on your own and figure out your own workarounds in order to regain access: why, you're the true superheroes in my book. Thanks for your continuing patience, all!

"Post reply" is here when using a PC... was missing on my iPad last night.

Will try again tonight and see how it goes, glad to see the forums back online!

Another thing I can't understand: logging in with email-address vs logging in with username. My email is a lot longer than my nick, so naturally I'd prefer the previous way.

A little addendum: I, of course, have a different password for my email and for the forum. So far, every time I've logged on to the forum, I first autotype my email password. It's really irritating. Probably soon I try to log into my email with my forum password...

Why don't my registered products show up on the main Fender site under my account?

Thanks for the reply Brad , yes I know the plectrums have always been there , but having "roadie" over the avatar for someone like me who has played for that long (and actually taught Leonardo Da Vinci to play electric guitar), makes me feel like I am back in Salford , carrying a small tube amp and my Strat on the bus to a gig

Haven't done the password reset thing yet, so we'll see.
I share some of the criticisms voiced by others, expecially about it being too bright.

Then again... nobody asked me.

Adapt or Die I guess.

cheers!

You'd think Brad would have had a couple of cold ones on hand to welcome us back   That aside, Brad's noted that not all the bells and whistles are up to speed. This isn't the first time we've had revisions and glitches to deal with. I trust this too will pass. For those who find it necessary to jump ship...."Sayonara!"

I'm not jumping ship,...I'm here to stay! :D

I'm only mildly disappointed in the new forum. This is apparently what they are teaching "web designers" these days. No artistic sense of layout and their excuse is that it is because of mobile devices. So if you are on this forum using an iPad or other tablet - THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT, LOL! Have you seen how crappy ReverbNation is now? Same deal. Evidently, nobody is using a real honest-to-God computer anymore. Lowest common denominator always wins. POS tablets!

Now, will someone tell me why all my registered Fender products have disappeared from my account????

On the positive side, I am very happy that the designers haven't fallen for the latest trend of having pop-ups on pretty much everything. That is a real usability killer on some "renovated" boards, as it prevent scrolling from working - once you scroll so the page moves under the mouse and triggers a pop-up, scrolling stops.
So thanks to whoever decided that was a bad feature, because it is, well, a bad feature.

On the flip side, I see a regression - what was fixed yesterday is now broken again. I see QUOT, COD and two LIST buttons now, because the containing boxes don't scale with the contents. Use pct or em in the style sheet, never px, unless what goes in the boxes is fixed size in pixels. Fonts aren't fixed size.
