Gong to see Sonny Landreth and Cindy Cashdollar tonite at a small venue.

Really looking forward to it. I've known Sonny since the '80s and I see him every year in New Orleans.

Going with some buddies, so hoping to get a chance to greet Sonny and introduce him to my friends.

cheers!

Went to the show which was a small venue in the University's West Bank area, maybe 250 ppl.

Terrific show, Sonny played brilliantly and Cindy Cashdollar was amazing on the Lap Steel !

After, I brought my friends back to the Green Room where I introduced them to Sonny, we chatted for about 10 min. about what's happening with him, the New Orleans Music Scene, they both had their pictures taken with him. He asked about Mrs. LMN and I told him she was doing a tournament down in Orlando (World Golf Challenge) and was really bummed about missing the chance to see and get together with him.

As the after-show gathering was starting to break up, Sonny asked me if I knew any good watering holes in the area (I did). So the 4 of us went to one a block away (Cindy had some local friends she was meeting with) and shared Adult Beverages and guitar talk, dropping Sonny back at his hotel after midnight.

Sonny said it was great to find people he actually knew on the road to spend some time with. He thought my friends were great too - both guitar players.

My buddies were thrilled not only to see his show, but then to meet him and spend time with him.

A really great night.

cheers!

Ditto! Always enjoy your debriefings after these reunions you have with Sonny. He gives new meaning to the word 'incredible'. Most interesting was the feaiure article Gultar Player Magazine did on him several years ago in which he detailed the evolution of his 'behind the slide' style, and the manner in which he set up his guitars. Haven't seen anything about him performing in SoFla. There are some Forum members down here who, no doubt would enjoy his work.
