I picked the maximum of 3 options.

First was "Other"- and my 'other' is the fact of how sick I am of the ad's, commercials, and just the term "Black Friday" itself.

Second and third picks were based solely on my attitude towards my first pick.

I don't need no stinkin' new gear and I could care less about saving money.

Here's the deal; NOTHING will get me to any stores anywhere on that maddening day (weekend) with all the psycho's out there. And I can get good enough deals as a "Preferred Platinum Member" at my favorite on-line music store any day of the year.

Of course I would never say "I could care less about saving money"...but as I said, when it comes to gear, I don't need Black Friday to save money---that is why that option figured in to my vote.

Besides; there was one news channel that proved that Black Friday was in SOME ways, a hoax...by showing the Black Friday price of an object in a store...and that they were offering the same price on the same product in the same store in the middle of summer. They had a bunch of examples on the report I saw.

A lot of Sheeple will believe anything they are told, and flock to the stores to get in a fist fight over a coffee maker they feel they are getting a deal on. The same coffee maker they could have calmly walked in and bought a couple months earlier, for a couple of bucks less. LOL! Crazy

However; I DID order a Fender Chorus effects pedal a little while ago (long before Black Friday) that had to be put on 'back order'. Got the pedal for $45.41 (U.S.)...and it sells for $79.99 (U.S.)---ships Dec. 1st. That is the only gear I will be getting this holiday season.

Strings from GC, 20 pack Martin acoustic for 25$ and 10 pack D'Addario electric again for 25$.
Was a good deal I think, and I don't have to run to the store for a while.

Nuts- I only picked one. I should have added the Good stuff being gone option. (most of it anyway)

I bought an Epiphone WildKat for about $350. I'm loving the look of the logo on the headstock- very retro looking!

Going later in the afternoon helps with all the schmucks. I hit two stores, neither of which was particularly crowded. Guitar Center, and the Record Archive. So I also got me some new CD's, inc a couple of Live Gov't Mule albums. I think "Thorazine Shuffle" is now on my list of all time favorite songs!!! God- they sound fantastic live! Definitely a bucket list item.

I always boycott Black Friday. No matter how good the deals may seem, the companies aren't doing it out of the goodness of their heart. It brings out the worst in people, including both company owners and shoppers.

And many of the "offers" seem to be scams anyhow - items that normally have a street price of $1500, are suddenly at MSRP of $2000 for a few days before Black Friday, so they can advertise with "Black Friday Sale - $500 off!". And the marks go for it, hook, line and sinker.

Bah, humbug. Wait for inventory clearance sales instead. Or January sales, when people have returned expensive gifts because they've spent all their money.

I finally after waiting almost 3 weeks, got my WBW , 3 ply pick guard in yesterday. It was worth the wait and I think it looks good on my 2002 Squier Affinity Strat. I never cared for those single ply ones. This adds some class to it IMO.

No shopping, I consciously made the decision to avoid the stores altogether for Black Friday weekend.

We did, however, play a gig on Sat night using our new gear - Fender Expo - speaker array systems at a gig. Lots of fun.

The only store I went to on Black Friday was my local record store for the Record Store Day Black Friday releases. Then I got myself a bad cup of coffee at a local gas station and went home and listened to some sweet vinyl.

So I went with "I don't need no stinkin' new gear". Honestly, other than getting myself a guitar and amp at some point I'm perfectly happy with my current basses and rig. The only things I eventually want to get my hands on are an old late 70's early 80's Bassman Ten and I'm patiently waiting for the used market on those 2014 Proto Precisions to happen.

Until then? I'm good.

I chose "I sent my list to Santa - time will tell." Santa if you see this I want you to know that there will be chocolate chip peanut butter cookies and milk for you on the table near the tree lol. :D

I'm not lookin' to get ME anything!
But I sure am going to have fun buyin' stuff for my musical lineage:

A Moog Li'l Phatty for Daughter #1
A gritty sounding Hardtail Jag for her husband

Something eastern and exotic for Daughter #2, maybe a Sarod
And Tablar for her main man.

I just get a kick out of giving.
