I put a fake decal on my ham, and said it was a turkey.

I've had dinners with people of shamanistic faiths, who thanked the animals and plants for the use of their bodies, instead of thanking a deity. I liked that sentiment, although in any case there's no giving involved, just taking.

Thank the living, not those who cannot hear your thanks because they're dead or imagined. I'm thankful to the farmers, truck drivers and oven manufacturers who in their drive to profit, as a side effect made it possible for me to eat good food.

Yes Happy Thanksgiving to all you Fender plucking pilgrims!
Here's to full plates good company and maybe a little guitar playing to boot!
Oh, and don't worry about consuming too much L-tryptophan.
It's only a myth.

All the best to everyone on this Thanksgiving Day.

South Florida Thanksgiving menu -- Ham, pork shoulder, yellow rice, spinach, cornbread and plantains. Not what this old New England boy is used to.

Sounds creative. Here in Palm Beach County we're having the same old boring usual stuff.

This South Florida kid's having tacos tonight, and turkey dinner tomorrow. It just worked out better. Image

I was surprised to learn that several European countries have mimicked US Thanksgiving, and are eating turkey. Exactly what the turkey is supposed to be a symbol of for them, I'm not sure. Perhaps it's some sort of America-envy or cargo-cultism.

Anyhow, here in New England, I enjoyed a nice big roast of lamb (poultry allergy in the family) with all the fixings. And pecan pie. And now I'm looking for where I put that bottle of bicarbonate...
Happy holidays!
