Like others have said, I always play for myself and my own enjoyment, never to prove anything. With that said I LOVE collaborating and jamming. It's a great feeling. I usually feed off of other people pretty well. I guess I'm 50/50. Half lone runner, half jam man.

I play alone most of the time, but there is nothing better than playing for a crowd.

If one person in the audience smiles, I've done my job. The best show I've ever done had eight people in the audience, but one of them sang along.

I prefer to be jammin over just playing by myself. I just love that play between musicians when one just throws out a riff and everyone just kinda builds on it. There's some magic moments there that can't be beat.

I play just for me. Guitar playing is my second favorite thing to do.

I play alone in my bedroom, or out on the deck. Some of the dogs and cats will stay and listen. My granddaughters will occasionally hear me play or practice.

My daughter is thinking about getting a bass, and joining me

When I feel confident enough, I'll try and play with others - but that time has not yet arrived.

I like to jam with others a lot because there is a lot of creativity flowing at a jam session of 3 or 4 people. You can really learn a lot from experiences like that. But I do enjoy to play for my own enjoyment.

I like to play amongst people ever so often, but only because I really have to. Otherwise I like putting on a track and playing it through, 'cause I get to practice it all at my own pace without anybody chewing my head off (especially the lead singer, she's harder to deal with than a terrorist.)

I prefer to play by myself too. I don't mind playing for others if the stress and pressure isn't too bad. There are some people though that I've learned not to mention my guitar in front of or play in front of because all that happens is I get compared to people that they know personally and think are really good. Nothing bad about recomending things here and there and stuff like that. Bad feedback, CONSTANTLY. A lot of the times it's like "Hey, can YOU play the guitar? I didn't think so!" And then I would like, check out how that person that they think is so great plays guitar and they are no better than me.

Another one of life's "OHHHHHHH" moments

I prefer play alone in my room with a headphone, AC, and no lightning. I love to play music for myself

Same here... I put the headphones on, set a drum beat on my recorder and start playing what the feelings desire... eventually those turn into a new song and my brain is busy in a world of its own.
