Personally i prefer to play for myself. I think its relaxing that u dont have to proove absolutly nothing and stuff like that for anybody. Its just most enjoyable knowing your all alone and play the way you want. You can experiment in peace and so on...

yeah, I agree with ya, FriendlyGuitarAddict. I play for people sometimes. But I prefer to play for myself, and feel I do better when it's just me. I guess this is because, like you said, there's no "stress," and you don't need to proove anything to anyone and can do whatever you want!

Mostly for myself. There are only few blues lovers that I know so sometimes with/for them.

I agree, I mainly play for me. It is my therapy...I have had many days slip away just sitting around the house picking all day long until my fingers can't take it anymore. It is my favorite thing in the wold to do.

Don't get me wrong playing a gig is rush, and always fun to get other ppls feedback. But that isn't why I play. I am not going to be a rockstar or the best guitar player in the world, but I can slip into my own world spending the day with my Strat...

Mainly for myself, but it feels great playing for others. Especially when they appreciate it.

I play maybe about 30min per day, but at least 1 - 2 hrs one time/per week. Since I'm not in a band anymore, it's nice when I play by myself with the amp volume only to 1/2, not even to 1, but it's nice and relaxing.

I play by myself a good bit, experimenting and writing. I also love to play in front of and with people. I try to avoid jerks and most of the guys around are pretty cool. There's nothing like being in a place where everyone's into what you're doing and the guys you're jamming with are all on the same page.

I like to do both. I jam a lot with friends, and even a few jam bands. It's a lot of fun. But I also enjoy playing by myself, where I can play whatever I want. It's not everyone likes the same music as I do.

I now have some people that want to form a band. Don't have any idea how that will go (I'm not a fantastic player or anything, but I might be able to get by). I'll just sit in and see what's up. It'll be fun either way.
