As most of you know, I got a 2002 modded Squier Affinity Strat in Artic White just last week. I have a 3 ply pickguard on the way for it and while I love the guitar to death, I never cared for the solid Black logo on the headstock. I see that the newer Affinity Strats now have Golden lettering for the word Squier on theirs and I would like to know if there is any way I can get one from Fender for my guitar ? I looked all over the net and Squier headstock decals are harder to find than you know what.

No! Why do you continue to insist on doing crap like this? :x If you really wanted a definitive answer why don't you contact Fender consumer relation? The answer is because you know why!

Easy there Minnesota. I haven't broken any law and besides, it's my guitar not yours. After I posted this, I did send consumer relations a email inquiring about this subject. If they do tell me no, then I'll leave the guitar as it is. I just wanted a answer to a question, that's all ? I didn't think there was any harm in that . I don't have any intentions of selling it or anything like that so calm down okay ?

I remember reading something about Fender logo decals, so I reckon it's the same for Squiers.
First off, you'll have to take the neck to a local dealer and prove the neck belongs to a Squier. Then, in case the original decal is damaged, they can get you a new decal. However, I doubt they'd get you the decal if the original decal is left intact or shows signs of intentional destruction. Mostly due to risk of forgeries.

Thanks for the info. That's what I wanted to know. So I guess I'll be leaving the Affinity as it is then. No big deal. It's still a great sounding guitar.

BS Jeffo! You knew exactly what the answer was before you asked it. This has been posted many times before, so drop the coy act. Minnesota called you out as he should have.

That is what you said about your other Squier also. But you are correct it is your guitar not mine and you are the one with questionable ethics not me. As they say in Georgia "Bless your Heart."

BMW , no offense but I didn't think it would be theft asking for a new Squier Affinity headstock decal just because the logo is Gold compared to the older Black on my model. But since you've pointed it out that way , you are right and I don't want to go that route. I done that in the past with other guitars and am not proud of it. I'll be keeping my squire as is with the exception of the 3 ply pickguard when that comes in. So to T-2 and Minnesota Strats , apologies are in order to you two gentlemen. Take care and god bless you both.

BMW KTM has a burr up his butt- he likes to unlease his wrath on people. Don't worry about his Holier than thou attitude. Do what I did and just block him out on your control panel. Then you never see his posts. Nice.

And here we go again.....

Jeff, you just can't leave well enough alone, can you? You bought two Squier guitars in the past, dropped new Fender Telecaster waterslide decals on the headstocks, bragged about doing so on this very Forum and swore that you would never, ever SELL those guitars, but then you did just that. You sold two low end Squier/Affinity guitars with Fender Telecaster decals on them and, of course, who knows what the guys you sold them to thought they were getting? They've probably joined the legions of guitar buyers who post the endless "Is This A Real Tele / Strat?" questions on related Forums.

And those guys who jumped on your post immediately..? They are simply all too well aware of your past actions.

Excellent observation. I think you're onto something there. When people disagree with you and call you on your crap it MUST be that they have a burr up their butt. There's no other explanation. Just a great, great observation.

Mind if I make one of my own?
If you blocked me and never see my posts ...... hmmm

A couple of years ago when I was considering restoring my '65 Strat the "proper way"-after a friend, who was generally a very good carpenter, woodworker and musician, made a complete balls of it,I contacted Fender about getting the proper decals.I found out that in order to get the period correct decals it took nothing short of a letter from God to get them.I was told that I'd have to provide pix of the body cavity, the hardware, the pickguard and all the controls and pickups, the neckplate, the heel of the neck etc. etc. I think that you'd be much better off getting your name or the name of your guitar-if you have a name on it-airbrushed on or some such thing rather than waste your with something as insignificant as a Squier/Affinity decal and could conceivably have detrimental legal ramifications for you if you ever came to sell the guitar.
