Thanks for posting Mike. There is no better songwriter the Sir Paul James McCartney.

Quite a few good covers. I'm kind of surprised at the lack of creativity. Were they told to stay in the lines? I was expecting one of them would have turned a song inside out and given us a real alternative version.

I really like Heart's and Steve Miller's renditions!

If you do a web search for "The Art of McCartney" there's a lot of info about this tribute album.

One of my favourite covers are of a Paul McCartney song. 'Replicants' made one tribute album back in the 90's, and featured Paul D'Amaro of Tool, Ken Andrews and Greg Edwards from Failure and Chris Pitman (toured with G'n'R and Tool):

How's that for inside out Drew?

*I forgot to mention that Maynard from Tool provided the vocals for this one song. He also provided that profoundly deep intro

Is "Bluebird" a more colorful version of "Blackbird"? Just askin'.... What he did for bass playing (and players) was also most noteworthy. Like "Penny Lane" for instance.

It was more of a 'Wings' song:

I haven't been on this site or really on a computer in about two years and this made my day! I never even knew this album existed and what a killer set list and group of artsist=Awesome Mike! The Beatles have and always will be my favorite band and I am sure other die hards go through phases where you just play Paul- John- or George songs. In fact I just came off of a big Harrison listening fest. Paul is still has the pipes and is simply a genius. I hate to even bring this up but it was a longtime after John's death that all of a sudden Paul got unfairly pushed to the side in a way. I know it would of been the same for John (God forbid) if it was Paul who was killed.Though as solo artist I still feel George made the greatest solo album with All Things Must Pass as he finally broke out of John and Pauls shadow as a writer right as they broke up as well as becoming one of the greatest slide players in history with the sweetest tone you'll ever here! I was not really a fan of Johns work with The Plastic Ono Band and that pitchless tone deaf succubus lol, always had to take up space with her wails and screeches. I still don't get the hold she had on him, but John was just back to being John with Double Fantasy. I always looked at them from the beginning as two geniuses in a 50-50 manner and that is the way it will always be for me. I love on this compilation how a lot of artist picked some very under rated Wings classics like-Jet-Bluebird- Junk-Every night (one of my favorites)-Rock Show- Let Me Roll It and Helen Wheels. Going TO get my headphones and sit back and enjoy!
