At a music store the seller suggests to plug in that guitar you're noodling with?

I somehow go back to three months of playing experience when that happens.

Can't say I freak out... crap... i'm the one who's plugging in to all the different amps
But I can remember a time... long time ago when I was new to the whole thing and felt like that... Man... where have all the years gone :?
Anyways...
Don't worry about impressing anyone... see how you like how the guitar plays... test drive it... see how you like the sound of the instrument... if the response is what you're looking for from the neck etc... just DON"T play "Stairway" or "Smoke on the Water"... PLEASE!!!

And please do not play every lick you know for a half an hour. I always want to strangle those guys.

No lie- my friend went in Sam Ash - picked up an SG and had the guy plug it in for him in a Marshall TSL AND A 4-12- my friend cranked it half way up and proceeded to just play Trapeze songs so freaking loud it could put you in the Hospital. I walked away like I didn't know him. The store guy literally ran across the store and turned it down. He said he couldn't here on the phone it was so loud !!! HA! :lol

If it's anywhere but the local I've been going to for the past 25 years I would simply respond with. "Sure, As soon as you learn how to properly set up and maintain the instruments in your inventory." Most music stores I walk into are pretty bad about it. Especially where basses are concerned. Most of the time you are playing an instrument and trying to give it the benefit of the doubt because it's so poorly maintained. Amplifying a poorly set up and maintained instrument isn't going to be doing anyone any favors.

I recently was at my local guitar store test driving an Fender Blues Junior III amplifier (which I eventually bought). I played my guitar licks and the songs I know (such as SRV "Lenny" or Jimi Hendrix "Little Wing" "Villanova Junction" "Dolly Dagger" etc. )

Whenever I test drive anything in a guitar store whether its instruments, pedals or amplifiers I want to get familiar the equipment and play the stuff I would play when I am at home.

I am aware of "guitar store etiquette" hehe ie. NO Stairway To Heaven, and not playing so loud that the employees can't hear the other customers.

I don't because I'm a ham  , just kidding Juan. I keep the volume low usually unless it is a loud Saturday, then I'll crank it up a bit so's I can hear what I'm playing lol.
