Well, as of late, I have a lovely, tattered 1960 Gibson LG-0 case that it fits very well. However, this case is old as dirt and doesn't offer any protection other than keeping the guitar locked in place.

I most likely need a teardrop case, but would really like recommendations for it. I need something that can occomodate a wide and long body, yet a short scale. There aren't too many results, and GC hasn't been too much help. My local music store only had a bass case to offer, so I'm a bit stuck.

This is only partially acceptible. However, it was only $10.

If all else fails, get a big sheet of med soft foam and trace out a proper fitting in a case large enough for it. Just gut the case and put your own shape in it. Very easy to cover the foam with some spray glue and soft fabric. You could get all that for cheap + what ever a old heavier case would cost. You can even make a secret compartment for your unmentionables :P

What unmentionables?

Condoms? Who needs em? Drugs? Don't last long enough to get stashed. Picks? Hardly inappropriate.

I'm asexual, straight edge and haven't ever played guitar.

I think I would look at a pre-made road case for a Strat and then custom fit some extra foam parts to contact the edges of your guitar.

I bought a road case for my Strat Partsocaster and it wasn't really all that expensive, IIRC. I forget the exact price but I think it was somewhere around $90 or so.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.
