Never gave much thought to what looks "best" on stage. To me, it's possible for any color to look bad under certain colors of lights.

The color choice is as individual as the player, sound is more important on stage anyway I'd think.

Fiesta Red really "pops" on stage, as does candy apple red.

All the sparkle finishes look amazing, too...I used to have a sparkly gree Danelectro DC3Pro, and it got more attention than all my other axes combined (from the non-musicians, at least...)

Are there any axes with UV reactive paint? That should stand out.

As far as Strats go, I'm a fan of either Sunburst or Artic White.

Brother Dave,

Agree with you 100%--obviously that's the #1 decider.

But all else being equal, it's good to look at things from a different perspective every once in a while, n'est-ces pas?

I can definitely see that. Sparkles definitely catch my eye...

Has there ever been a white sparkle?

I would say it all depends on the player. Soft sublet colors I feel work best.

It lets the audience watch you, not what your playing.

Something like mine right here.......

I think it's called Sunfire Orange flake, I think Fender should rename it "Attention Whole Orange flake" but either way it is anything but subtle.....

Y'know. I don't know if I could ever rock something like that, but I think guitars and basses like that are cool. Guitarbroker or one of the other online retailers had a CS 58 Precision in "Copper Sparkle" with all gold hardware and the gold anodized guard with a gorgeous birdseye neck. Looked out of this world. I debated with myself for awhile on whether I could really pull something like that off. Turns out they ordered it with a modern fretboard radius so there was no way I'd play it anyhow. However, for a moment I thought it would make a really cool bass for special occasions. Probably for the best, though.

Sometimes it's not so much the color of the guitar, but the color and style of the strap.

Scary Creative, formerly Scary Guitars - they did a bunch of odd stuff. Some of it actually looking good. Now they mainly sell DYI-wraps.
