Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

While not the primary reason I decided to take up Guitar 2 years ago, it did factor into my decision.

I had seen and read other articles in medical journals asserting the same things.

These articles stated that even greater benefit was received by those never having played an instument in the past, that the onset of age-related memory issues (some speculating even Alsheimers Disease) was statistically reduced.

Essentially what the articles said was that a beginning player was actually rewiring their brain and creating new neural connections throughout the major cortices.

cheers!

Now I can justify buying more music stuff as Alzheimer's insurance!

Being bilingual does similarly wonderful things for your brain, which is cool too.

Einstein played the violin. I play guitar. No wonder we have so much in common!

Unfortunately you have something in common with Tony Blair too:

Not nearly as advanced as this guy, who here demonstrates a C/G# Major Flat 13th Suspended 2nd:

Very Interesting. I had read somewhere that there is a strong correlation between aptitude in music and mathematics....would that seem to be supported by this?????
