Whatever you do, don't accidently shut the car door on her hand then practice like crazy while she heals.

If she's your girl your music friends will be jealous. That's too cool if you and she can jam together. Might be a keeper. 8)

Hey, at least you can sing. I have a rack of flutes and blues harps to compensate for having the singing talent of Darth Vader.

I'm not sure I'd like a gf who played, though. i like differences.

You're right, she is.
And she doesn't even practice and she's never has lessons
and yet she can just pick up a guitar and play along with just about anything.
I hate her

 Are you describing my GF? She did learn piano, but still, her guitar skills are far greater than mine would have been with as little practice

Could be !
Mine plays keyboards as well,
and actually, here's the sad part, she really has no interest in playing a musical instrument.
But she's gifted and talented and would rather make candles or something.
Rips me right off!
She can pull off the acoustic intro to "La Villa Strangiato" after hearing it once
while I practice every night and just tell people I'm doing John Cage covers.
It's not fair!

Hahahah, your GF is almost the same as mine
Mine wanted to play guitar, but when she enrolled in a music school, there was no place left so she started playing piano, which she didn't like as much (she was a total Slash fan at the time, when she was 8 or so  ). I love her playing, but when she quit the music school, as she didn't like the classical music as much, she almost completely stopped playing. She had to play classical all the time and that's probably what made her lose the interest completely. I would probably follow the same path and wouldn't play guitar anymore, had they let me enroll the music school (when I wanted to enroll, they said I was too old. I was 11). Even when she plays guitar, you can see her talent. Her dad being quite talented himself certainly helps.
I am in a phase of ear training right now as that's the one part I never bothered to develop (mostly because I was always told I had absolutely no pitch and I didn't know before that it was something you could develop) so I try to play something by ear and she listens to me and after not doing it completely right a couple of times, she takes the guitar and plays it right in 1st or 2nd try  So I get what you're saying and I agree, it's not fair at all

Nice one arth
I don't have problems singing while playing most of the stuff (although pitch-wise I suck at singing, so I don't do it except while we practice and if the singer is missing, just so that we know exactly where we are in the song), but talking and playing at the same time.. That is way more difficult for me lol.
