1958 brought us The Ventures, and in 1957-58 The Fendermen came to the stage, began recording in ‘59, became a one hit wonder (with a minor hit flip side here), and then split in ‘61.

The following B side of Muleskinner Blues (Re-released on a different label May 1960/original release 1959) preceded the June 1960 Ventures’ first hit “Walk Don’t Run” and, questionably, this Fendermen raw treat was before the early surf craze. Notably, The Fendermen were only a three piece group. Lead, rhythm, and drums.

In 1962 the Aussie “Fendermen”, a much larger group, carried on the tradition of Jim Sundquist and Phil Humphrey, Link Wray and other soloists aside.

I think out of all the great instrumentals out there, the only one that goes right into your soul is "Europa" by Carlos Santana. There is something magical or spiritual about it. It's like Carlos' guitar is being channeled from Heaven!

How about "Sky King" by Danny Gatton? or "Cause we've ended as lovers" by Jeff Beck?
