If I told ya I didn't see saddle shoes in school - I'd be lyin'. (They stood next to my motorcycle boots where my feet were, and they didn't suit my ducktail). 8)

The ever great John Henry Bonham. Thanks, Rollie. In the 70s I and Mrs. FSB sat by Cozy “Topsy” Cole at a club. He was famous for his hand drumming style amongst the traps. I hadn’t seen your video before. That would have been a good performance under a strobe eh wot?

This is more old school, but I’m sure JB knew who Sandor was. I sure did as (aside from Rich and Krupa) he was my idol before a guy named Keith Moon arrived. Here he is maxing out a small kit (no double pedals here) with only his left leg having tragically lost his right foot and part of his right leg in a motorcycle accident:

And that’s how accents get their name. :P

I love Jeff Beck's cover of "Sleepwalk",it's absolutely sublime.Only Beck could get such realistic steel guitar effects by his deft use of the vibrato arm and volume control. Another instrumental that gives me goosebumps as big as oranges is my absolute favourite and that's Jimi's Woodstock performance of "The Star Spangled Banner".I'm not even an American (Canadian) but every time I hear Jimi's majestic rendition of the US national anthem (which I always loved anyway) I get a huge lump in my throat, you can really feel the soul and passion that he put into that beautiful tribute.Another instrumental I love is Jimi's "Pali Gap"... just beautiful.

In the 60s Westerns were the TV rage. So was their music, and some of it crossed over to the charts.

Here’s one:

I could almost hear a Salsa band play this.

Here is a fraction of a live version featuring 2 of my favorite bassists:

The Who, Sparks, from the expanded version of "Live at Leeds". Actually, the fireworks really start right after the last verse of Amazing Journey with Townshend, Moon, and Entwistle locking into a groove that just doesn't stop.

ELO, Fire on High from "Face the Music", some great Bev Bevan drumming in there.

Hey there cthulhu. You were pretty much right about the groove not stopping. As for the guy (Moon) who got me into a similar set of drums I can tell ya his groove was constant. Unfortunately, that was the cause of his demise.
Sadly, we never got the luxury of finding out how great he could have become.
