As the former production coordinator of "The Midnight Special," I always preferred the tone and clarity of Fender amplifiers. Nothing makes a Strat ring like playing it through a Princeton. And nothing quite brought out the howl of a Tele like pumping it out through a classic Fender "Skyscraper" double stack. Rock on, guys! :D :!:

I loved that show! It was awesome. We got to watch the not ready for prime time players on SNL and some great bands on MS on the same night!

Burt Sugarman's Midnight Special! Man you must have seen some of
great bands of the 70's. I loved watching that, in fact I was watching
clips of it on YouTube the other night of the Allman Brothers

I used to watch that show. It's an honor to be in the same forum.

The Midnight Special and Don Kirshner's Rock Concert. Man, those were the days. Some of the best bands around performing free on TV every week. I saw some great stuff back then. I miss when rock was that big.

Was that 78 show opening for Sabbath? If so, I was there too. They blew Sabbath out of the water.

I used to rush home from my second shift job to see the Midnight Special. They're selling DVDs of the old shows!

Yeah, that was fast. The OP got all us old guys reminising about those great heyday's of rock n roll. Good times, tv was willing to experiment, the labels were willing to experiment. We got to watch it all. I miss when rock was king.

But back to the original point. I haven't touched a Princeton amp since the early 70's. You don't hear them mentioned much these days.
