So, going on the add for my local store, 2 off Fulltone MDV3's in stock, you beauty I'm off. Gets there and their out of stock  but they have a second hand cream MDV2, no marks clean as a whistle £170, 3 month warranty, I'll take it. Back home rigged up and I'm chorus/vibe filthy for a good hour and a half :D . I take a break and start looking at fulltone website and see this....
I bought a cream MDV and I'm out of luck, aren’t I?
Not necessarily, all Cream colored MDV’s made from August, 2013 on with serial# 9167 and higher are the same as the new MDV-1 and the same as the MDV-3.

The one I have is serial# 02339, my question is this. Apart from the switch on the MDV-3 does anyone know what difference's there are between them? Anyone done a side by side on them? I'm really sold on the MDV-2, but could return it and order the MDV-3 as that quote has irk'd me slightly, probably nothing but would hate to find out after the three months that the newer model is superior, Cheers

If you're already sold on the one you have, the real question would be whether the difference in price is worth the differences in models. Only you can make that decision. Sounds like you may need to make a trip to the music store to find out of it is.
Best of luck.

Hey socal323, well a few more hours with it and I have to say I'm pretty satisfied tbh. I can see the usefulness of the switch being separate from the pedal, in that your setting's remain whenever it's switched off, not that big a deal to me really, I think I could live with that. Another plus is the leftover cash issue :P (gently strokes chin), yep another trip sound about right, something with a Boss name is calling methinks.

Good choice John. I've been visiting Fulltone's web-site for the past 2 weeks thinking about Robin Trower's tone. Here is the quote:
"I bought a cream MDV and I'm out of luck, aren’t I?

Yeah the Cream foot pedal MDV-2 is built like a tank Rollie, and if it got to the stage I had to have it switched off without touching the pedal to save the setting, I'd figure out a way of fitting a latch of sorts that flicked over the switch, until then I'm just gonna soak up the vibe.

I noticed that the Deja Vibes disappeared briefly. Do they still make the stereo version? I don't see it on the Fulltone site.

There are a few pedal threads on forums now. It's a about time.

I have an MDV3 and what they did was increase the speed range. I've tried both and wound up ordering the 3. It took me roughly three weeks to get it. I love the pedal, it sounds incredible. I think it's got to be the most authentic uni-vibe clone on the market. No digital modeling and it shows.

The Cream Pedal MDV-2 isn't there either SMS, guessing that it's been discontinued along with the Stereo version.

Cheers Supro, I wonder if the speed range increase was a consequence of removing the heel switch, perhaps a slower speed was gained as a result. Don't know if the potentiometer goes to it's full limit on the pedal or whether more could be had with a little adjustment hear and there, shaving a little of the heel switch button could extend the pot limit I suppose, that's if I ever feel the need. At the top end I don't think I'd want any more, I think the mid range settings with the pedal are the dogs dangly bits, awesome pedal.

Could be. I like where they moved the switch and I like the foot control too. I run the MDV3 through an A/B/Y box and send it through my 5e3 clone and my Egnater Rebel 20. The sound is huge. In my rig I have an clone of an Ibanez Flying Pan that I built that is pretty crazy with a stereo panning chorus effect and tremolo. It's insane. That one was a tough build but it worked first time out.

Up a notch, then up another notch Supro, A/B/Y got to try that, my looper has stereo outputs..Marshall avt + Vox AC4 are going to be put to the test. The Flying Pan effect, now that sounds freakin awesome, gotsa get me a pedal with panning.

Man, I'll tell you. I've been playing in bands and have been involved in music in one way or another for over 45 years. I'm nothing special, but you would think I'd be happy by now. I started building clones of pedals a few years ago, then I started building amps, then cigar box guitars, then bedpan guitars. It's addicting, but really a lot of fun. The quest never stops.

Can't wait to build the 18 watt Marshall clone. With the A/B/Y box I should have the vintage Fender and Marshall somewhat covered. I know they don't sound exactly like the amps they clone, but they get me in the vintage ballpark. Just running the MDV3 through two amps fills the room with swirly goodness.
