Ordered some jumbo fret wire and I am having a bit of a time with it. It's not shaped like a "T" it's shaped like a "P" with the tang going down from one side. When I go this, I thought OK I'll give it a try. But I'm on my second attempt to get this stuff lined up and in. It's in a press now so I will see what happens later. The fret slots are getting wider with each attempt so I am about to order so new better JUMBO SS wire. Anyone have any favorite wire they use?

I've only used Dunlop (probably 95% of the time - for me, it's the "traditional way to go" and it's easily available) plus very occasionally Jescar. No (additional ) problems with either.
A portion of proper frets for one guitar is about 20€ (pre-cuts). Haven't felt the need to search for cheaper products.

Well, it's working out. Not the easy way though. Lesson learned, from now on I get the good stuff. The end result will be good, it's just hard to work with.

I got it from StewMac. Not sure where they got it. Everything else I have ordered from them has been great. Maybe just a bad batch.

Yes, I have use them for a long time and am happy with parts, tools, etc.. that I get from them. The tang is just offset, so when it goes through the radius tool it twists in a funky way, making a spiral type twist. Anyway, enough of it is coming out good to finish the project. It's just a "give me something to do" kinda project anyway. Not even sure if I'll use this neck on anything soon. If it was an expensive part or important job I would send it back, but it's not a big deal. StewMac has been a great resource for many quality items so I don't want this to sound like a negative rant against them.
