What a sad day. Not many musicians can say they are Musicians Musicians, but Jack Bruce truly was one of that few.

RIP Jack.

I saw him a couple of years ago at a festival. He had a group that was patched together just for the show. I was really impressed with how good his vocal and bass work still sounded. When you have that much talent, you never lose it. RIP.

Sadly, just a start of what's to come soon with lot's of the "Cream" of the crop musicians still around from the day. People today don't look back at the roots and understand what a good three piece band they actually were, and what they had to work with, or should I say didn't have to work with in the studio.

Bruce's death was announced on his official website, and confirmed by his publicist Claire Singers.

She said: "He died today at his home in Suffolk surrounded by his family."

A statement from his family said: "It is with great sadness that we, Jack's family, announce the passing of our beloved Jack: husband, father and granddad and all-round legend.

"The world of music will be a poorer place without him, but he lives on in his music and forever in our hearts."

RIP Jack
I will miss you

i'm almost too saddened for words. the best way to see this loss on earth is that the great Rory Gallagher now has a fine bass player to complete his band in heaven. that must be a fantastic re-union. the circle will be unbroken. god rest your soul Jack.
