Sounds good! I could live with some of that culture, myself.

GilgaFrank, I will miss you. I always loved reading through a thread and hitting one of your bombs! Your brash comments always made my day! You also gave good advice on guitars and had a good knowledge of Fender instruments. Good luck, I hope you change your mind.

Same here... I know Frank from his (and mine) Sound Cloud clips that we share. He's a heck of a slide player.

I don't know what went on and/or who got their underwear all in a knot, but sometimes you just have to ignore stuff and don't pay attention to it.

Come on back, Frank!

Doubtful. Today's young are far more puritan. While we oldsters were enjoying free sex in the 60s, today's generation can't handle nudity, no matter how innocent.
How do you think the John Lennon and Yoko Ono's "Two Virgins" album cover would go over today?
Or Hendrix' "Electric Ladyland"?
To say nothing of Blind Faith or pretty much every Scorpions album.
All have been been reissued with covers that won't offend today's puritan morals.
A breast is horrible, but blowing someone up is a-OK.

...what about a bad-a$$ 60's cat fight between Julie Andrews and, say, Dianna Rigg?
I'd wager 5 large on Rigg in the 7th round. They could wear something sheer. Charlotte Rampling could officiate.

"Doubtful. Today's young are far more puritan." Yeah, about some things. I got yelled at for standing up for EC on another forum. Seems Clapton likes to (gasp) go hunting and fishing and do other oppressive nazi-like things. Sad state of affairs, indeed.

Not so much O as F, I'm afraid.

Poor Frank. He leaves in a huff and his thread turns into a discussion of boobs.

I have to say, Frank, you are one of the few on this Forum who ever made me laugh out loud.

And various continuous health updates don't do anything for me.

The lounge is for fostering a sense of community.
If community is not what you want then stay out of the lounge and stick to the specific tech areas.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

+1

I saw nothing remotely improper in the post from guitslinger updating Forum members regarding a chronic physical condition that affects his ability to play.

Can't say I will miss him. His particular disclaimer about his sarcasm reminded me of those people you meet in life that say crappy things to you and then jump back and say "oh I was just kidding." They get to insult you but your supposed to take it cause they hide behind the same banner. You feel bad all the same.

I don't mind at all posts about members challenges in life. You meet people here and develop a sense of comradeship. Sometimes it helps to get a prop up from other members. Its a lounge. Enjoying our passion is more than about ohms, pot size, string size and neck torque etc.

I saw poor Jeffro get unfairly attacked, I sorry Guitslinger got hit too. He's a great member

Is it, now. How awfully nice of you to educate us.

My personal interpretation of the word "lounge" is a place for shallow encounters. But don't take my interpretation as The Truth either.
We all have our expectancies, and Fender has some guidelines describing the forum, but apart from that, it should be up to each visitor. Not you, and not me.

Do you stand up in a Best Western lounge, telling people it is for fostering a sense of community?

WOW !!

You take 90 days away to move and set up the new home and come back to this...??

Whatever the cause, to me, Frank's departure diminishes us by one... sad to see that. I enjoy the diverse group and while I do enjoy reading some people's comments more than others (as do we all...), feel that everyone contributes something.

I've felt the backhand of the corporate censor myself on one occasion, but fully agree with Rob's authority to do so (apparently women wearing Body Paint isn't a suitable substitute for clothing  ...sobeit).

I'll miss Frank and hope in time he reconsiders his decision.

cheers!
