I've been looking around on ebay and checking out electric sitars they are selling that are made in India. The bodies are just like a regular double cut solid body guitar but with a dozen or so sympathetic and drone strings on the upper bass bout.I have watched several demo videos of these instruments and they sound incredible, much like the Vinnie Bell Coral electric sitar and they only cost a tad over $300 but with the labour costs in India you should be able to get a fairly reliable instrument for that price.

Do any forum members have one or know anyone who has one?I am very seriously considering putting one on my Christmas list, because I always ask for something music related for Christmas and one of these puppies would be ideal, since I love East Indian music anyway.Any info that could give me some insight into the quality etc. of these things would be much appreciated.
