Screamin' Armadillos Live This Weekend!

Well, while we have recorded some new studio tracks in the past couple of years, the Armadillos have not had a live performance since June of 2012.This is partly because of some personal issues, and partly because of some Personnel issues.

Our former "Other" guitarist (we both played rhythm and lead, kinda the Keef/Ronnie "weaving" thing) had a stroke and a fall which broke his hand and shoulder, so now he has very little stamina...we're holding a place for him, when and if he wishes to return.

Also, our old bassist has to travel at moment's notice with his job, so we (unfortunately) can't rely on him, either.

Lastly, I've been working spotty and strange hours and jobs due to the Casa de Armadillo Fiscal Crisis, which started in 2013.

So the drummer and I are pressing forward...This came up rather suddenly last Saturday night...

A friend of mine, whose band (Meltdown) covers 80's rock and hair metal, lamented that there was a mix up in communication between himself (as singer/leader/manager/occasional guitarist/bassist) and the booking agent of the venue they're playing this weekend, and they were scrambling to get all of his band members on stage an hour and a half earlier than they had planned (some members had other engagements that afternoon and would not be available until after the show was supposed to start).

I told him that if he would play bass for us, the Screamin' Armadillos would be glad to open up for them...and to my surprise, he said yes.
So, after one rehearsal (Tuesday evening), we are playing a one-hour set before their show. I'm rarely nervous, but this is some rare territory for me lately...

So, if you're in Grandview, Texas (city motto: "Grandview of What? I Don't See Anything!" [Just kidding...maybe] :P ) this Saturday night, come to Firefly Stage and see the Screamin' Armadillos open for Meltdown...doors open at 6:00PM, downbeat is at 6:30PM.

I'm sure I'm too far away, but others who are closer might want to know which town and state?

It went very well...

No usable video thus far (Armadillo 'Tween shot some video, but was too close to the mains stacks and the cruddy mic in the tablet she was using overdrove/pegged out terribly, so the audio sounded like crud...

Pics forthcoming...

This was with our temporary bassist and his keyboardist/sax playing daughter...both are fabulous musicians and great friends, so it turned out amazingly well.

The manager/owner of the venue pulled me aside and asked if we wanted to play there again--as headliners! We'll be booking again, as soon as we find a suitable bassist...
