I really miss playing professionally and would give anything to be able to play again-even if it was for my own enjoyment.Once you get used to playing to audiences regularly,it just gets into your blood and you just feel that you have to do it.There still isn't anything quite as satisfying though as being set upon by hordes of adoring fans......lol.

Perhaps you could petition the Forum mods here to open a separate area for personal discussions, and leave this part of the forum as it was intended to be.

I never did buy into the cop out of; "others are doing something wrong, so why can't I?" Those who want to try and turn this forum into some stupid facebook crap really suck.

I sincerely hope that last comment was not aimed at me , as
A- It is against forum rules to directly insult a fellow member
B- You and some other members seem to have a major problem with any post not COMPLETELY all about everything music (whether or not it IS actually related), so I shall leave you with your reaccurring (by now, BORING as the subject has been done to death), threads about relicking /which pickup etc

(Funny, I thought musicians were all intelligent folk ,who cared about other musicians, they always were in my day)

If musicians were intelligent folks, musicians would have jobs making actual money, and not worry about the price of strings :)

if I see a new thread, I usually check it out. if the subject doesn't interest me (most over-rated guitarist, for example) I just move on. simple as that.
we're all friend here, aren't we?

Well, yeah, except for JimRussellMills301, and the spammers, and the guys who think this forum is for free appraisals, and that Fireburst guy, and Fender TSL who only posts canned replies, and a few others. But jenerally, sure, yes.

Ummm, I did quote you. You want to refer to the rules about my comment, yet the personal crap is against the rules.......... :?

Therein lies the problem with this facebook crap, it's not just a one way street. If someone wants to whine about their personal problems, then it should be OK for anyone else that wants to whine about their anguish also.

So, I'll continue to complain about personal BS on this forum as much as I want to. You, or anyone else that doesn't like it, can either stop with the personal BS, or stick it where the sun doesn't shine.

Funny how you get an impression of people
Then they show their true colours and really dissappoint you with an uncalled for comment

I used to have a high opinion of some people on here , now I realise they are just bigots
(Hey, if it doesn't interest me, I won't just ignore the thread, I'll go and throw my dummy out of the pram, because I know better than anyone else )

Oh do grow up

How about this? Because I'm a "wanna help out where I can" kinda guy and agreed to be a moderator to mainly delete some heavy duty spam, I find myself on a virtual playground with my hall monitor badge on--- going through posts --editing out little cuss words (which don't offend me personally) to keep it "pg" and reading through argumentative threads like this---which I also prefer not to.

my 2 cents:

This is the "Lounge" section and a little latitude seems appropriate here. Personally I'm not a sports fan. Many musicians are though, so what's the harm? Plenty of Sports stuff in the lounge. I don't read 'em. But you're welcome to.

If the OP's post had taken place in the Stratocaster section, then maybe it would have been way out of bounds. In the Lounge it's somewhat questionable and everyone will have their own take on it...including the moderators I'd wager.

If you don't like it and want to report it.....that's ok. Go for it. The moderators will have a look and make their decisions, whatever they may be.

By complaining within the thread, you've now simply extended the very thread that you say that you don't want to read . Ahhhhh. sweet sweet Irony. I love it.
I love irony so much, that I'm also adding to the thread and extending it and not locking it or deleting it....and I may write a song about it just to keep this post on topic and Musical. I may use a Fender acoustic to write it or perhaps a Strat.

To repeat: I understand that some of you don't like the OP's content. Cool. Report it. Then move on with your lives or at least to the next subject that you DO like.

This IS a Forum.....and it IS a place of many divergent lives and opinions. So how about a little tolerance and "community"?

And now...an arth1 sponsored "rob kumbaya" moment. group hug. get along.

I agree with what Rob said. If you don't like what's posted, then just move on.
