COOL !!!

Hey, pardon my noob-ness but:
Front row, far left, gold flakey... what is that?
A lefty Jaguar/Jazzmaster? Can't pull it out.
It looks somewhat Firebird-like, what the...?
Whatever it is, I hope it sounds as good as it looks.

nice flock you got there, like that mustang lots.

thanks,
david

I am going to go ahead and posit that it's a Right-handed Hendrix style strat.

As you know, Jimi would take a right-handed strat, move the strap button to the lower bout, restring and reintonate, and play it left handed since that he was a famous lefty.

Presumably the OP wants to get that special playability and sound in a right-handed manner, so he started with a Lefty strat and converted it to right-handed. This seems like a really interesting idea, I would love to try out that strat myself.

The gold/orange sparkle flake thing is a Fender Supersonic guitar. I don't have a Fender Supersonic amplifier (yet). The 40 watt Mustang III V2 running FUSE is a very good simulation of the "real deal"...
and the reverse headstock thing is an MIM reverse Stratocaster... :) and does give me that Jimi sound, when I'm so inclined to play like him....somewhat. When I saw SRV play at the Great Woods Center for the Performing Arts in Mansfield, Massachusetts (he opened for Robert Plant)...well, next to my childhood friend, Lloyd (who plays a '67 Jaguar he got in 1967), he was probably the best Hendrix cover player I ever saw play...

Nice family that you have there.I have been playing Hendrix covers for many years and have been using flipped lefty Strats since the late '70s.There was a method to Jimi's madness, even though he could well afford lefty Strats after he became famous,he stuck with flipped Strats because it was necessary to use a flipped Strat in order to do some of his fretboard trickery. With the whammy up top,he could do hammer-ons with his left hand while depressing the vibrato arm with his left forearm,as he did to get the eerie ''air raid siren'' effect in ''Machine Gun''.He also could flip the pickup selector with his left forearm while picking without missing a note.Having the tone and volume controls up top also could be used to his advantage. It would be next to impossible to do a lot of these things with a non flipped guitar,I have tried to emulate these effects with both types of guitar and have found that the flipped Strat really is best for doing these trademark tricks that Jimi used.

Keep us updated on the Synchromatic restoration, too.
Is she a birch top and from the 1940's..?

Not sure what type of tone wood, but yes, that is a real old Gretch from the 40's. My luthier(s) have their shop the next town over and always do the restorations properly. This guitar I've had for a long time...it's played out, needs a neck reset, fix loose binding and check all glue joints... and the "stacked heel" has split, but it is repairable. I told "doc" to do it right, when he finds "the time". It may take a year to fix properly, I don't mind, plenty of instruments to keep me occupied until then.

I also put a digital camera in the case compartment, new battery and SD card...he said he would take a few pictures of the restoration process, so we will see. I also have my 120th Ann. Firebird there, getting Graphtech saddles installed...yes the Firebird is a string popper (at the steel saddles vertex point, high E)...lol

Doc and his "team" are good, real good :)

Also, just to let you Fender guys know...it has been my experience that Fender guitars are not "string poppers"...good stuff indeed 8)

The Boss e-band thing works perfectly with the Frontman 212R and the Vaporizer. RCA jacks ...perfect...I will practice with the backing tracks on the e-band...They are similar to the backing tracks that come with FUSE and here on the Fender forums, maybe a bit better, maybe. That rig is so nice...I like to just stare at it...lol
