As the heading describes folks , have any of you ever have that one guitar which you had and wished you had never gotten rid of ? I know this is a Fender Forum but back in 2009 or so , I was blessed to have come across a used Ephiphone Gothic Les Paul Studio which I traded a Sunburst Squier Standard Strat for, with some high school kid on Craig's List. He said he wanted a Strat and was okay with a Squier Standard. The one I traded him, had Fender 57/62 pickups which I installed in it, so he was getting a fair trade. This LP had a lot of tone and sustain to it and contrary to it's Gothic appearance , was a player. It was great for Blues , Rock, and of course , Metal . I held on to it until I sold all of my electric gear . To this day, I miss it and if I ever do decide to go back to Electric , I just might consider getting another one.

A 1985 E series MIJ Squier Strat that I gave away many years ago. It was modded with a Duncan Custom in the bridge and seriously was a great guitar even with the skinny vintage frets and 7.25 radius.

Fortunately I've recently scratched that itch by buying an E series MIJ Contemporary Strat that's almost certainly made on the same machines in the same factory by the same people. Plus it's got a sensible fingerboard radius and big fat frets. And it's Burgundy Mist, the greatest guitar finish of all time.

A Daphne blue 1963 strat . I let it go for peanuts as I had been made redundant and was inbetween groups and just couldn't afford the HP

Contrary to belief, these were horribly set up , high action, tremolo cranked down with 5 springs flat to the deck and 12's strings with a wound 3rd
It took me a good few hours the day after getting it to put thinner strings on (actually there were no light gauge about then, so I got a banjo 5th as a top E and moved all the other strings over finishing with the original 5th string as a bottom E), took 2 springs off, lowered the action and after about 2 hours, got it playable

The only guitars I've ever sold were an old Mann Les Paul copy and a recent Squier standard Tele that I just never bonded with so I have to say no.

For me... 1960 Jazzmaster... Tobacco Sunburst... very good condition... completely stock. Wonderful player.. Was my main guitar for about 12 years. quintessential Surf tone... great for Blues too!

Started playing Strat's primarily... so the Jazzmaster wasn't being played all that much... was sitting in the case a lot... it was showing the usual signs of wear as well... saddles starting to go south... in need of a fret job... and I wasn't comfortable bringing it out on Gigs anymore (have had guitars and gear stolen in the past).

Made the decision to let it go... wish I still had that one now  miss it a lot... it was an awesome guitar.

The other one I miss was a very nice 1972 Tele Deluxe (Butterscotch blonde) w/ maple board... completely stock... that was a great player too... the buckers were beefy and warm... Don't miss that one as much as the Jazzmaster... but still missed all the same.

Yep. The only one I wish I had kept was my Ibanez Artcore AS73T.
It sat on a stand quite a bit. every so often I would say to myself, "I am going to sell it." Then I would take it to a jam and say 'I like it, I'm going to keep it."
This kept going around in circles until I traded it for a 2002 American Series Strat.

Late eighties American Strat Plus. It had the roller nut, 2 point trem, 3 tone burst maple neck, and lace pu's. Super mint guitar, so stupid to trade it off. My bad.
Oh also, Ibanez Musician MC300. Should have kept it too. I think I paid about 200 or 250 for it in 83-84 nearly mint.

A 1962 Strat. It was a good one, had great tone but someone offered me what then was stupid money, so I let it go...I do regret that one.

No, I still have every guitar I have ever purchased. I have always been a collecter type with everything, I buy and rarely sell. 8)

I'm exactly the same with guitars. I can't understand how people can sell a guitar the same way they'd sell a used car, for me it's a very personal thing and I'd hate to see any of my guitars going to an idiot who'd leave them under the bed unplayed. Or worse, "relic" them.

At times I get nostalgic and wish I had my Japanese Ventura 335 clone that my brother gave me as a teen. It was red and had a Bigsby type vibrato. It was a decent guitar. I guess I would want it more as a relic of my youth than something I would play.
