I have been wanting to replace my DanElectro Cool Cat distortion for a while. I had only listed to clips on the net. I had narrowed it down to this and the You Dirty Rat. There was something about that crunch switch I liked. I went out specifically for this pedal yesterday. I picked up a new one, carried it around the store for a bit, then happened to notice a used one in a small bin for $30 less, so I picked up the used one instead.
This is a higher gain pedal than the Cool Cat, and sounds a lot different. This is great for soloing! I jammed with the bass player and guitar player last night and the tone for solo's was awesome!
So far I'm loving it and can't wait until Saturday to try it out again!

I've wondered about those. Looks like a cool stomp. I've been GAS'en for a Kasha Overdrive but it just cost so much. I watched a review on the one you have and the (MXR Distortion 3?) they both appeared really nice.

This pedal is a little different than what I am used to, but so far so good. I like it better for solos than rhythm right now, but I just need to find the sweet spot!

Yea, it takes me a month or two before I really figure out a new piece of gear. If it's a good fit I will like it more and more over time. Many times I feel like things are mediocre at first, then a few months later I love it. But, when it happens that way I usually end up liking it for the long haul. Makes deciding what gear to try hard though.

Yep, still digging it! I gotta wait until Friday to wind it out again!
I am trying to decide if I should pull the Cool Cat distortion off my board and put this one in its place, or do a bit of a rearrange and squeeze it in with the rest.
