I have always had a thing for Japanese women. Must be from watching all those Japanese monster movies growing up. I ran across this gal the other day and fell in love.

Check out Tomoko playing surf guitar, she's playing a Mosrite, my apologies to Fender. Why is there always some idiot who cannot stay in their seat, and has to dance in front of the camera shot.

Man, I know what you mean! I'm in love as well!
The guy standing up in the front goes away after 2 minutes, the last 3 minutes he's not there.
She puts on a great show anyway. The music reminded more of Dick Dale & The Deltones than Chuck Berry but it was still great. Good control of the whammy bar, that's for sure.
:P

Well the thread title says it all. She's an average guitar player doing an uninspired cover of a tune that's been played by far too many unimaginative bar bands. But she's an attractive woman so everyone likes her video.

Take away the very ordinary music and playing and this thread is just saying "look at this woman".

Which is kinda pathetic really.

An original Mosrite would be a cool guitar to have. Yamaha makes some of the best drum kits in the world, my favorite of theirs are the 7-ply maple shell kits. Wondered what amps they were using. Reminded me of my first rock and roll band in 1963/64 the Lincolnites an instrumental trio playing that style of music by The Pyramids, The Surfaris, The Ventures et al.

The "Walk Don't Run" lead played on a Mosrite, well that is the way it should be.

I too am a sucker for Japanese women-in fact I'm enthralled by oriental women in general.I have to say I was more impressed with her visual impact than her musical ability. She is a competent enough guitarist and has a better than average technique with the vibrato, but she isn't anywhere near the skill level of Bonnie Raitt,Orianthi or Susan Tedeschi, compared to them, her skill level is pretty pedestrian.I did love her tone though. The Mosrite guitar had a tone of its own that was just right for surf music.

Re the standing dancer: I'm sure that he was up dancing not so much because the music moved him but he was confident that if she saw his lithe body going through his sensuous dance moves that she would take him back to the tour bus and have her way with him.

Thanks, I might just do that. I have always planned to take a trip to Japan.

Gosh, this is a hard audience. I though her playing was excellent. She does have a website, and album coming out. I think she would do well in visit to Dallas or Houston with that cowgirl look. (Well maybe not right now given current events)

and I see where he's going.

did I think she was "Excellent"? Well, She got by well enough. Did what was required,

would you think she was just as excellent if that was a 58 year old fat guy?

KidBlast, I think you got the wrong website. Most of us here are 58 year old fat guys.
And we tend to like old guys like Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler, Keith Richards, Jeff Beck, Mick Box, Mike Oldfield, Alex Lifeson, Buck Roeser, Ritchie Blackmore... The only younger one I can think of is Derek Trucks (but his wife is getting long in the tooth).

Anyhow, back to Japanese, I'd date Miku Hatsune if I could.

Yes, the fact that I find her attractive makes a difference, so what. Yes, she is pretty and happy and smiling and plays like a lady. Given the fact that she can even play this, and has the guts to get on stage and do it, puts her ahead of the majority of guitar players in the world. Yes, I though the playing was excellent. The object of the practice is enjoyment. She getting paid to play so...

Would Jimi Hendrix have made in musically when he went to the UK, if instead he would have been a 85 year old woman? What if the Beetles had been 4 dwarfs from Liverpool?

Gosh, stop over-thinking and analyzing, enjoy life.
