I'm off this weekend, but post your gigs if you're
playing this weekend. Maybe some forum friends
would like to know and go...

I just got back from logging and cutting firewood in Minnesota for 10 days, haven't gigged or played a guitar in all that time. I play this afternoon and again on Sunday, then I have bookings for next Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday - all fairly short performances, but all bringing in some nice cash.

As for where, all are private functions and generally late afternoon or early evening. I get out 10-12 times a month and try to jam most of them into the middle two weeks of each month.

From reading some of the introductions of new members and the current members here, I thought there might be a few more that had gigs this weekend.

Not meaning you, AndyBigHair.

I imagine everyone's too busy taking photos of their guitars, polishing them and deciding which expensive cleaning product to rub on the fretboard.

+1

Since music is not my primary occupation (unfortunately) I have this weekend off. Next gig is in 2 weeks - and the band has been talking about not having more gigs than that before christmas. The plan is making more music , re-arranging some of our ''old'' tunes, even record some of it.
We wish to come back better than we are now 8)

I think you have a good point there, asgeirman. On busy gig weekends, I usually don't have time to browse the forum. So much time goes into the gigs (i.e preparing, getting there, equipment, etc) and then the 'recovery' process.

I'm often amazed to think back in my early 20's I gigged 6 nights a week for years and it never seemed to have any effect on me. Now if I play twice in one week I walk around like a zombie for several days.

I don't know your age, but you have obviously grown older as the rest of us :D - and I suppose this is a consequence from that . I feel the same when it comes to my daytime work :?

Played a gig at a Univ. of Calif. San Diego Saturday night. Really weird vibe in the club. Promoter said the club guy stiffed him last time they had a gig there but it was too late to cancel ours.

So we went into the office before we went on. Promoter introduced me and said, "He's here for the money." I just stood there stone-faced and silent. Club guy wasn't happy but he wrote a check.

We'll see if it bounces...

We've got a gig on Saturday :) Some sort of fare or something, arranged due to the Mayor elections. It'll be fun I guess :)

Who's giggling this weekend? Who's gagging this weekend? Who's gurgling this weekend? Better yet, "Who's got a performance this weekend". Me likes that! :P
