I found a Fender Bassman ten (1975) by me on craigslist and was debating wether or not to sell my current amp or get this new one. My current amp is a fender hot rod deville 2x12. I only use the clean channel and never use the OD channel. I just wanted to get some opinions of people who have maybe played both amps.

A old amp like this one my need to see a tech for new tubes (? ) and filter caps if you want it in good shape for gig .

By the way ,expert on amp and user are more in the amp section than in the Loundge .

Yes, you should do it.

I'd pick the Bassman over the Deville in a heartbeat.Arjay would definitely be able to tell you which would be the better amp though.

fwiw, I had a 50W Bassman head 'back in the day'. A wonderful amp with plenty of clean headroom. I was using a 2x12 cabinet at the time, but a 4x10 combo is a sweet configuration.

Yes, budget some time and money to make sure it is working it's very best.

Cheers

In all my "horse trading" I've done over the years, the only amp I have ever regretted selling was a Bassman Ten. One of the best-sounding amps I've ever heard. Go for it.

SA the one I regret was my 74 Bandmaster. I really loved that amp but that huge 2x12 cab was a killer to transport in a 75 Chevy Vega so I traded it for a 100 watt Twin. I played out of many Bassman amps over the years and really liked them. The 10 was one of my favorites.
