I caught the last half of a documentary of the band The Clash the other day. I think it was called "The Rise and Fall of The Clash" but I'm not certain. Anyway, I took a lot out of the film, how it depicts drug turmoil, personality conflicts and authoritarian situations. In the end, the issue of The Clash going "soft" because of the emergence of money (Mick Jones in particular) made me truly think about how we view the nature of compensation throughout the world.

I DVD it and watched the whole thing. I thought it was very interesting. I always wondered what happened to them. They went from"the only band that mattered" to gone .It seemed like in the snap of your fingers. Your take away from it was a bit different than mine.

I watched this documentary cause I was a fan on the Clash in my younger years. They were all terrific musicians even in the early days when they were considered punk. It's incredible how the music changed from 1 album to the next but the message was always in the words. I always wondered what happened to them as they were on the verge of becoming 1 of the top bands in the world then all of a sudden just disappeared. This documentary explains everything.
The same channel also had a documentary on Lemmy from Motorhead which is a must see!

Jim's "take on/understanding of" anything communicated in the English language is bound to be different from everyone else's. I take it that the same would be true of ANY language, including Spanish, Swahili and Dolphin.
