As previously posted, i'm finally getting a point to point chassis sent back.....as opposed to that POS circuit board which F'ed up long ago.
I like the gold label orig. speakers (think they're rated at around 99% effiency), but would like a less sensitive speaker .....but at least as musical.
My only point of reference is a Wizard (waay too effiecient...Loud), and at the other end of spectrum a Texas Heat (while less efficient, sounds waay muffled and nasal imo).
Any ideas on a less effiecient speaker that still sounds Full?
I want to be able to get break up from the deville w/out finishing off my hearing.

If you are serious about your desire to not crank up your amp and still get some crunch out of it you could try a set of Webers, model 12A125-O.

To find them go to the Weber site and click on Vintage on the left column to find the 12A125-O listing under AlNiCo.

You will want the 30 watt version with light dope. Or no dope at all if you're feeling brave. You should be able to find a link on the Weber site that explains what dope does, what the ribs on the cones do, etc.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

You could also try one of the adjustable eminence FDM speakers. What I've heard of them seem to sound the same with the attenuation at either extreme. I don't know if that sound is what you want. I bought one of the mavericks but it isn't due to arrive until next week (and I don't have a cabinet for it yet anyways) so I've no personal experience with them. They are a bit pricey, too.

Anywho, throwing it out there. I think guitarworld has a review of them on youtube.

I think that Weber 12A125-0 would be a good match for my new Jensen P12Q i took out of this amp:
https://www.google.com/search?q=deluxe+ ... B700%3B543

So with this Weber and my Jensen.....both being Alnico's rated 30 watts each, i would only have to buy one.
Hopefully they would be able to handle the Blues Deville 60 watt output as long as it was'nt dimed for long periods here and there.
Guess i should get moderate to heavy doping. I'm not sure what the doping us on the Jensen P12Q.
