Currently, I have, and use:

MXR Carbon Copy. A strait up analog delay, with an added modulation option. ( a chorus, with internal controls) Does one kind of delay, and does it well! This is more or less a "permanent" part of my pedal set up. This pedal likes to run at instrument level, and I place it after my dirt pedals, into the front of the amp.

T.C. Electronics Flashback. This one has all the options. You can switch between several different types of delay- analog, tape echo, digital, rack etc. It also has slap back, modulated delay, and some presets- plus the Toneprint function. A mini toggle switches you between different delay modes, like dotted 8th. It's a very good delay pedal, and it has a brighter sound to it than the MXR, which is fairly warm sounding. I like it for a different delay option to ^^ TC mod and delay pedals prefer to run at line level, so they go in the loop.

I've had a hankering for A Memory Man, or Memory Boy from EHX. Both are excellent sounding delays with some interesting modulation options. Not that expensive, either.
These are analog, as well.

As a Mustang user, I also like the delays Fender put on there- esp the multi tap, the ducking delay, and the echo filter.

All the above are very easy to find, most places carry some or all of these brands.

Being a sucker for Youtube "Rig Rundown" videos, I see those Boss digi delays on MANY pedal boards. They do the job, and they're reliable. Hard to argue with that! ( the EHX delays are a close second in frequency of use)

It must be that I'm getting old-I forgot to mention the excellent line of analogue and digital delay pedals the Electro Harmonix has.E-H makes a plethora of echo units from the Memory Boy and Memory Toy right up to the Deluxe Memory Man-I had the Deluxe model years ago and it was an amazing pedal. The E-H delay/echo pedals range from around $100 to over $400 and they are all very rugged and they all have incredibly good sound quality for such low priced units.

Do you find all the different settings usefull on the flashback? I was wondering if it would be a better choice than some of the others I listed because of all the settings.

My semi-recent purchase decision came down to the TC Electronics Flashback and the Hardwire DL-8. I chose the DL-8 and I find it to be an excellent delay pedal. I'm sure you couldn't go wrong with the Flashback either. I particularly like the Hardwire's LoFi and Tape settings but the other ones are good as well. The reverse is a bit kitschy but I've had fun playing with it nevertheless. The looper is a little short on total loop time but it is great to practice soloing over.

A second other's positive opinions of the MXR CC as well.

The TC pedal has lo-fi, reverse and tape modes. The Tone print is a real plus. I have a really great cathedral print that is very musical in its reverberation. Some of the tone prints are worth the price of this reasonably priced pedal, IMO. Their smaller model works mainly with tone prints alone.

I have several TC Electronics pedals. The range of options and adjustments they have is awesome, and Toneprint is a stroke of genius. What they all have in common, though, is that I don't like the sound quality. I'd never use a TC for recording, because of the harsh unnatural sounds.
On the list of pedals I own and have owned, TC is at the bottom of what I'd recommend, slightly below modern EH and Boss, and way below high quality pedals.
Feature/price wise, it's hard to fault TC. For sound quality, I find it easy.

Try out T-Rex Duck Tail Delay. It may be a bit pricey, but man is it sweet sounding :D I tried a good couple of delay pedals when I was buying it. None of them came close to the Duck Tail. Not even the T-Rex's Replica, supposedly one of the best delays out there (costs about 150€ more and, imho, sounds a lot worse).

I'm kind of a simple guy, delaywise. I mainly just use the tape delay, lo fi, and slapback, plus the numbered one ( it's a model of their rackmount digi delay, just can't remember the name.) when I want a brighter sounding delay.

It's nice to have the options, but I don't use them much right now.

To each his own, I guess- I LIKE the sound of this pedal. I like the Carbon Copy more, however.

Ok,well I went in and looked at a few in my price range and really couldn't make up my mind so I went with the mxr carbon copy.

I'm up to seven pedals now..these little suckers add up fast..it's time to figure out a pedal board and power supply.plugging/unplugging everything all the time and buyin batteries is getting old. :? ...I guess that will be my next question for you all..

Dunlop DC Brick - rock solid, reliable, no muss, no fuss, 18V option.

VooDoo Labs Pedal Power - interesting feature with variable (sagging) voltage which some folks feel make the gain pedals sound better. Apparently when the 9V battery is almost deead that's when some folks think the pedal sounds best. I've never noticed that myself but it's an option here. Problem there is that time based pedals do not benefit from sagging power supplies and can actually produce bad tone instead.

Daisy Chain cables allow you to connect up to 5 pedals from one typical adapter. More if you get more daisy chain cables. Voltage drops may become unavoidable with this method depending on the draw of the pedals and the capacity of the adapter. Ibanez makes a great one. Excellent quality. Other companies make them too. Visual Sound. Planet waves. Diagao. Others.

Too late now because you've already made your choice but I have run a number of different delays over the years. Digital and analogue both have their pros and cons. I love my Moog MiniFooger MFS-Delay.

Hope you have fun with your new pedal!

I don't use much delay. The only delay I've used in recent years is the one in my Vibro-Champ XD amp, though, I do own an old DOD digital delay DFX9 if I need one.

+10000 on the MXR Carbon Copy. I don't think I'll ever replace mine--greatest bang for buck ratio I've ever seen.

I hate digital delays, with one notable exception: the Rocktron Short Timer. Pretty dang analog copy.

Congratulations, if you're happy, I'm happy for you. Delay is one of the funnest pedals there is, IMO.

I have an Ibanez AD9 analog delay, and a Boss DD-6, which can get those ultra-spacey Grand Canyon type of echoes. But since I'm almost always playing through my SCX2 these days, I usually just use a virtual delay pedal in Fuse.
