Went on Craigslist thismorning and someone had just listed a tubescreamer for cheap.turned out he lived less than a block away.its in excellent shape but he said he has owned it for ever and just recently found it in a box.how can I tell how old it is? It sounds good and I have no intentions of selling it,just curious if there's some way to find out.best 20 bucks I've spent in awhile. :D

Awesome!

I'm not sure but maybe check the pot dates or any other dates inside.

Well, first of all you might want to identify which TubeScreamer model it is.
Here are some of them (there are a couple more):

I owned the turtle one on the far right. It wasn't horrible if you didn't mind stomping on it a half dozen times to get it to activate. I sold it for a Roku which I feel was extremely good value.

Second from far right for me. Blazing hot and if you hit the little black switch it gets hotter. :D

+1

I had that one too.. Activating it was like repeatedly stomping out a small fire with your shoe

Didn't sound that bad however.. I had a digital delay soundtank pedal which had the same stomp issue

$20 is a good price if it works okay and sounds good. Have fun with it.

Wow, 20 bucks is a good deal! Enjoy it!

I have a TS9 also, but lately my new ehx Soul Food has gotten more love.

Hee-Hee - different people can have a radically different idea of what "forever" means!

Still, $20 for even a reissue TS9 is very good value for money. Nice catch. Enjoy.

Cheers - C
