I just added this Fender Super Bassman head to the two TC Electronic BC212 cabs. My Jazzes sound great through Super Bassman.

300 Watts all tube, and a great tone with two channels to work with, Vintage, and Overdrive. A footswitch comes standard with it. The Fender Automatic Bias system monitors the tubes to let you know if there's a tube problem starting. I chose the Super Bassman over the Ampeg SVT-CL head. I don't regret the the choice at all.

Thanks guys. I know we go around, and around on bass heads, but Fender really has been moving in a positive direction with the Rumble, and the Bassman Pro series heads. Now if Fender would just do a 2X12 Bassman Neo cab,………………. Image
I was almost going to go for the Bassman 100T. TheKingofPain gave me some great advice from his 100T head. But I thought if I wanted to go for the Super Bassman in the future, it would be better for me to do it now. Later on may be to later on for me anyway. Image Go Fender.

Nice amp!!
Look forward to hearing more of your thoughts on it.

May I ask what is the nature of your fondness for 12s?
What are the rest of us missing who go the 410 + 115 route?

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Congrats Mr. Nylon...will be interested how well it holds up over time with all Fenders recent QC problems. It looks like it is built like a tank, how about the insides?

Well, the head has a nice bass tube sound. Today I remembered it has a pull out bass plus setting in the bass knob. It's max bass on Max Bass. The Overdrive Channel is good with the Gain, etc., but the Vintage channel has al the sounds I prefer. The Fender Automatic Bias system does work as advertised to monitor the tubes condition.

I started out using 12's, and always liked the sound of the 12, kinda' like the three bears, not to big, not to small, just right for pushing lows, and highs. I do like the way 12's sound with a tube amp with some balls pushing it. It's old school 60's, and that's me. just me, and my own opinions on them. Image Well you asked…… Image 15's And 10's work, for me 12's are better.

Thanks, so far it's functioning great. I've been playing it for 2-3 hours at a time, and have had no problems. The one thing occurred about the first 20 minutes of play, the Automatic Bias system reset the tubes. Once that was automatically done, this Monster has been hard core trucking non stop. No complaints here.

I liked the sounds of 12"s too. Marshall used to make 4/12' cabinets for bass but probably must custom order them these days. The old Fender Bassman 2/12" cabinets were great, I could imagine stacking 4 of those would produce some good bass guitar sounds.

At one time, 12's were a common, standard speaker. Combos with 2X12's were common also. There were some top grade 12's made by the speaker companies in the 60's. I just prefer 12's.
