Hi folks-I haven't been around for a while due to having other irons in the fire.On Monday,Blinkers and I made a 3 hour trip to pick up the old Hammond L-122. It had been sitting in the back of my Santa Fe since then as a couple of the guys who I had lined up to help slug the 215 lb. little brute up over our back steps and then down over the basement stairs to my music room, were out of commission.Blinkers and his neighbour dropped by this even and with considerable difficulty, finally got her into her new home. She sounds real purty but she isn't at all loud and will no doubt need to be checked out.A good buddy of mine used to be the tech for a local music store and is used to working on Hammonds. He moved away quite a few years ago but will be coming home for a visit in a few weeks and will be checking her over then and fixing what's fixable.I love the excitement of getting a new toy-especially when it costs less than 1/20 of its actual value.

Oui,mon ami, pardonez moi. It is probably well known around these parts by now,my computer know how is somewhere between minutely slim and nil.We are in the middle of the slow and arduous process of getting my new music room up and running. With at least 32 guitars,15 amps and 6 keyboards-which now includes 2 Hammond console organs,my 6 cases of effects units and my stereo system with its many CDs,records and tapes, the finish date of the switch around is a good ways off.I have been taking pix throughout the entire undertaking and will eventually post them. With regard to the new '66 Hammond, I will take pix tomorrow and try to enlist the assistance of my good buddy and fellow forum member Blinkers-who played a large instrumental part in getting the old girl-to help me at least get the pix up on the forum.I'm finding that even though the new 14 X 19 room is a big step up from my old 9 X 9 music room, space will still be at a premium and rather cramped.I need to build an annex onto the house......or win a lottery.

BTW: I still have to find room for the bookcases that will hold the thousands of volumes of guitar and music related books and magazines.Just getting the Guitar Player magazines-which date from the mid-70s onward with few gaps-in chronological order will be a task of Herculean proportions(Just a bit of hyperbole there).I also have Guitar World from its inception until they got too metal oriented and Vintage Guitar Magazine since Jan. 2009.Lots of other asst'd. guitar mags besides those listed too.

Extra BTW: I got a message yesterday from a long time friend and one time band member. He is in the process of bargaining for an older Hammond C-3.This organ comes with 2 Leslie cabinets and since he only has room for one,he's giving me first dibs on the other one-I just hope that the pin pattern is compatable to mine.
