...but I had sent Brad an email last week to let him know what I've been going through and why I haven't been active on the forums. His reply made a lot of sense when he stated that "...a group of folks collectively offering their thoughts and prayers is never a bad thing!" and after thinking about it, I agree.

I was dealt some bad news after a routine check up and scope last month when they found a malignant tumor. After many tests and PET/CT scans it was determined that I do have cancer.

I had major abdominal surgery to remove the tumor and lymph nodes and I'm healing up from the surgery now. The surgery went well and they took out the tumor and TWENTY SIX lymph nodes of which only THREE had cancer in them.
The plan is to heal up some more at home this week and then next week I'll be meeting with an oncologist to discuss a treatment plan (chemo, etc).

I'm not looking for sympathy, but if you have any spare good thoughts and/or prayers, I sure could use them now.

I have a positive attitude and I feel that this is treatable and beatable!!!

My good thoughts are right now being telepathically beamed towards you.

..If you think and believe that you're going to beat it, then you will.

If you're over 50, get checked, early detection is probably what saved my life?

Hope that you are feeing better soon and that your treatment is successful.

I had wondered where you had been, but I know that we all have lives outside of on-line forums.

You take care now,

Mike,

You wanna know the cool thing about this? Prayers are free and they always get answered. We just pray that the answer you want is the answer you get!

I always have prayers available for those that need them!

I will definitely keep you in my prayers! I hope you have a speedy recovery and get back to life! Keep fighting brother!

Bill

P.S. Are the chemo and radiation treatments just precautionary? Please keep us updated as to how you are doing!
