Ah-ha! Let's discuss this "greater/bigger stuff"!

I'm thinking a Forum logo Strat, at the very least, right? Someone who's better at Photoshop than me can probably run us up an "artist's impression" of that...

Where's Blues Bondsman got to? Time to launch another of your amazingly productive threads, dude!

Hey I'm Right here !!!

a Forums Strat sounds good to me....

as long as its surf green, maple neck, some form of custom shop pups, modern C neck.

Now can you see just how tough it will be for a group this size to agree on one strat ???? or for that matter what about our Tele, Jazz Bass, P Bass Guys ????

We had enough suggestions on a shirt to fill a small store with different options.

Brad will have his work cut out for him to try and pull that off without a riot breaking out.

But hey I'm all for some forums guitars or Special run Amps Maybe ???

The particularly astute amongst you will note the relevance of the 64/65 catalog cover artwork reproduction that I'm standing in front of in the second shot, since the individual depicted front and center with the Jaguar in that painting is none other than Bob Perine -- who was inducted into the Fender Hall of Fame today. (Naturally, Mr. Perine is far better known as the creator of the "You Won't Part With Yours Either" ad campaign.)

Super Sweet!

Still not showing in stock yet but I'm certainly expecting them any time now -- should be some time this week for sure. (Hopefully I won't be eating crow based on that statement later in the week. :-) )

Tell those inventory guys you have a pack of snarling wolves snapping and growling !!!!!!

I noticed you have yet to comment on the possibilities of the Forum guitars, just waiting to see how this goes first ??

I cant imagin pulling that off and making the majority happy.

is there enough of us to maybe do some small runs of special guitars and basses and let them land where they do ???

Man you have the best job in the world !!!!!

How about just a nice quality "Forums" decal for everyone to put on their gear, wherever they see fit? If you want a "Forum Strat", just slap that bad boy on there.

Ziggy,
Great idea...I also like the idea of a decal, both have a choice of stick-on or static cling for interiors of car windows...at least 3"X5". I can also see hat witha Lounge embroidered patch and a nice guitar strap with the lounge patch on it. Yes I know, I can't turn it OFF!!!

C-Ziggy I brought the decal idea up earlier in this thread and didnt get a response from anyone, I thought it would be real cool too.

I would put one on my big old 4x4 right next to my bail bonds company logo.

I would bet the bank on seeing them in the future if this T-shirt thing does well !!!!

Just checked and the shirts are now showing in inventory in our underlying business system, so we are ever so close. Unfortunately I see that our merch guy has still not yet posted the supporting imagery and text required to get the sale under way -- but you can rest assured I'll be checking in with him on this first thing tomorrow! :-)

That's funny that you mention that. Although the concept of a 'forum guitar' has gotten to be reasonably commonplace these days, believe it or not there was a time that such a concept didn't exist -- and I'm proud to say that in my pre-Fender life I was lucky enough to lead the very first forum-designed guitar project. (I'll leave the details of that particular project as an exercise for the reader, but my point is that -- even though it's a TREMENDOUS amount of work and definitely extremely challenging to please everyone -- it is indeed possible.)

I think it's great to dream big and I most definitely share those dreams. But, realistically my own feeling is that a guitar project is still quite a bit in the future for us. After all, you can see how involved this T-shirt project has been and keep in mind that this is utilizing existing systems with literally zero customization or departures from the 'norm'. So ... I want to do a number of smaller initiatives like this to get the 'machine' accustomed to servicing community-related initiatives, and also to prove that folks will actually *buy* stuff if we make it. :-)

Anyway, all of the above is obviously why the T-shirt project is very important as it's the first time we've actually offered something for sale here. Will folks actually buy it, and will they buy it in sufficient quantities? Those are the questions that remain to be answered.

Yeah, I'd have to agree with you there. I *NEVER* take it for granted, that's for sure.

Is this where we have to prove if Fender makes it for us we will buy it?
