I was putting a new pick guard on my tele...while cleaning up I found this tiny round metal piece on the ground. NOW, this could have been there before hand and have NOTHING to do with the Tele...OR what I fear is that this belongs somewhere in the guitar...

Please take a look at this photo and help!

*I only removed the pick guard, took off knobs, and all screws to change pick guard...I am not sure where or what this could have even came out of!

what? I'm confused? where would this go? is it necessary to put back in?

I don't see where this would go. When i removed the knobs, they came off with a washer, that is all that was on top of the pick guard...anything underneath would not have fallen off...

nevermind, i figured it out. I see what you were saying...its back on.

When i changed pick guards, I messed with the neck pick up height...

is there a rule to how the neck pick up should be set? does the rule change from model to model? example: is the pup height the same for a standard vs vintage?

Tele Setup Guide gives factory recommendations for pickup height, among other valuable advice.
Just a mention: in the good ol' times (before internet... ) one rule of thumb was to set the neck pickup level with the fretboard - as the starting point.
