Definately a player. I would like to collect, but I would just end up utilizing them and being a player again.

I had 12 basses at 1 time once, but I didn't really collect them, I played them on stage and rehearsals. Now I'm down to 2 J basses, and accoustic bass, and 1 classical 1/2 scale guitar my dad left me when he died. I am looking to buy a Vibe Series J Bass right now, but not sure yet.

Hello EVH 1978,

I play my guitars every day.

I'm not really a collector, more of
a trader they come and they go.

Cheers.

Everyone I have played with that was a player was also a collector of some magnitude.

I imagine there are some collectors who are not players, but that just seems wrong. It's like someone without a driver's license having a huge Corvette collection.

I'd say player but if you use the criteria of guitars owned versus gigs played I'd fall into category 2. I've horse traded guitars for years but never stepped on a stage with one.

With only three guitars, that makes me a player. But then again if I had the disposable income I know I'd be totting around many more guitars. So I'm a player / wannabe-collector

A player dude !!!

However I buy a lot of used guitars and clean them, fix them and send them on to other players.

Collecting is for stamps and coins.

Instruments are for playing. Books are for reading.
