If you buy a new Jaguar, get the shop to take off the plastic protection sheet on the pick guard. It left a big mess of glue behind when we did it, it look me ages to clean it all off. Better let the shop deal with it.

Fender: if you want to track the problem to the factory and do something about it the serial is MX12301460.

Eucalyptus oil will fix this very common issue and not damage the instrument.
Now, just relax.

Be careful saying "will [...] not damage".

While eucalyptus oil will take care of goo, it also quickly dissolves things like rubber, silicone rubber, polystyrene and neoprene, and to a lesser extent things like gutta-percha, polyether- and polyester-urethane.
Add to this that around three quarters of all the "eucalyptus oil" on the market is artificially produced in China based on camphor oil and aromatic acids, and is one of the few things that can even cloud the surface of bakelite.
