Finally

It has been almost 3 years since I have been on this forum and playing . . . and my wife tells me my playing has improved on my MIM Telecaster.

I am so happy because I believe I figured out a guitar solo by ear.
I never thought I could do that . . . and with hours of practicing I think that I accomplished just that!

I still might lack a little coordination with some chords but it is better than what it use be last year.

I just want to thanks the folks on this forum for the great advice and support.

Now I can play the solo for "Mother" by Pink Floyd

And now I am teaching myself the solo for "Mother" by Danzig

Also . . . I am a litlle choppy when playing basic chords and singing at the same time.

I can sing and play some Waylon Jennings & Willie tunes too.

When I feel confident, I will post a you tube clip.

Once again.....thanks Fender forum friends.

This message board is a great outlet for new or old muscians and making new companions who support your hobby too! I love reading about the new projects people have here along with thier guitar playing progress too!

Thanks for the vote of confidence. If we did not have any other responsibilities, I am sure we would do this all day!

Thanks Guitslinger and Guitar Body Loves Songs. That means a lot.
You guys are great online support. Music is a wonderful gift. My step son is in the 6th grade and he just started to play a Euphonium. If anything, he gets lots of encouragement from my wife and I.

I am hoping . . . maybe next year . . . I can play a gig in a coffee shop. That would be fun!

Congrats !!

We started about the same time and I've made progress, but it's been pretty slow, but satisfying.

Progress in this type of learning isn't linear, so I expect that you have a few Big Leaps in your near future !

cheers!

Thx Lightnin MN!

I must admit . . . I play around. Sometimes I don't know what I am doing . . . but if it sounds right, I continue to play. I just love this Telecaster. I hope in another year I can purchase a tube amp. (don't get me wrong) I do like my solid state amp too!
