Well it's been a long time since I last posted here. I do see a lot of the familiar friendly names. After ownership of this guitar for 51 years it will hopefully be going to a new owner who can enjoy it more than I did. It did not get played very much. It is listed on craigslist and can be viewed here: http://nh.craigslist.org/msg/4621201286.html. Please feel free to provide comment. Is it priced right?

Nice example. The lack of the signature on the pickguard is a bit strange but otherwise it looks nice. All of the DE signature models I've ever seen had that signature including other 63's. Still a really nice guitar with the infamous white top DeArmond pickups. The headstock logo is correct for '63 too. All I see that hurts it is the missing signature. I think it would possibly bring more than you are asking, but less than the 8 to 12K these sometimes bring due to the missing signature on the pickguard. The other ones I've seen from 63 didn't have the "DE" on the truss rod cover either, but did have the full signature on the pickguard. Also the blonde ones like yours would be more desirable as that was a color DE used a lot and are just plain great looking. Collectively, these are stellar star caliber guitars and I'm pretty sure it was the first artist signature electric guitar in mass production. Lots of people have had these on their want lists for decades.

I have nothing useful to add here, except - what a pretty guitar! Gorgeous maple on the back; fine but not crazy over-the-top. Tasteful.

What a shame (or what a relief, pocketwise) I'm not in the market for this guitar...

Cheers - C

Thanks for you comments. The last one i saw that sold on ebay was maybe 2 years ago which sold for $6100 and (in my opinion) wasn't as nice of a condition. That one left the US for the UK. So I think I'm in the right ball park for price. However, being it is listed on NH craigslist, I doubt I'll get even one serious offer. Will have to advertise it elsewhere
